A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Winter Sports on Deck!
We still have many openings for game workers during our winter schedule. Please see below and consider supporting our athletes and events.
Academic & Career Family Night for 9th/10th Grade Families
We appreciated the feedback that our families were looking to understand all of the different coursework students can take at OHS that can help them prepare for after high school whether they are going to college, technical college, or directly to the work force.
Due to your requests, we are offering our first-ever Academic & Career Family Night to allow for our students and parents to learn about the many opportunities available to help your student prepare for college and a future career. We will have speakers from Fox Valley Technical College to discuss dual credit courses, the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh (UWO) to share information about CAPP courses, and Youth Apprenticeship to explain career-based learning opportunities. You will also learn more about our AP courses and those courses where you can earn industry recognized credentials or certificates while still in high school.
Date: Tuesday, November 10th
Time: 6pm - 7:30pm
Place: The PAC

November Student of the Month!
Each month, a senior is selected as the OHS Student of the Month based on their scholarship, citizenship, leadership, and involvement in co-curricular activities. The Student of the Month for November is Parker! Congratulations, Parker on this incredible achievement!
Congratulations, Ethan!
Ethan has been chosen for this quarter's CTE Spotlight for Business as he is very business minded and has been elected as this year's Future Business Leaders of America chapter President. His future plans include pursuing a career in business. Congratulations!
Green and Gold Career Day at Lambeau
On November 3rd Mr. Goryl's Business classes and FBLA attended Green & Gold Career Day at Lambeau Field. Students attended Business topic sessions including Marketing, Accounting, Finance, and Hospitality & Tourism. Students also went on a stadium tour and visited the Hall of Fame.
National FFA Convention
Omro FFA members had the opportunity to attend the 99th National FFA Convention. On the first day, we explored the convention floor, engaged with agricultural companies and universities, and attended the opening session featuring inspiring messages from the National FFA Officers. We wrapped up the evening attending a concert by Ty Meyers and Avery Anna. On day two, we toured Ozark Fishery to learn about koi and goldfish production, visited the Indianapolis Zoo, and attended the FFA Rodeo. We concluded our trip on day three with an educational tour of Fair Oaks Dairy, where we observed modern milking systems, robotic dairy technology, and swine operations before returning to Omro. It was an exceptionally rewarding experience for our entire team.
Blowing Up the Evidence: Fingerprints on Balloons!
Mrs. Whitney’s Dual Credit Forensic Science class is studying fingerprinting. This week we practiced identifying and classifying fingerprints by placing a fingerprint onto a balloon and then inflating it to magnify the fingerprint. It was a fun way to see the details of each print and learn how to tell a “loop” from an “arch” or a “whorl.”
Dia de los Muertos
This past week, our Spanish students learned about Día de los Muertos and how it is celebrated in Mexico and the U.S. We recreated a cultural experience of visiting ofrendas and adding offerings to them as a sign of respect.
Career Fair Success
This past Tuesday, Omro High School held a career fair in the PAC for students to take some time from their classes to see what businesses in the area have to offer! The Career Fair is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore different career paths, ask questions, build networking skills, and learn directly from professionals in a variety of fields.

Students must attend the full school day to participate in practice or competition. To be eligible on a day with an absence:
Step 1: A parent must notify the office 24 hours in advance. For emergency medical appointments, parents must call before 8:00 AM the day of the absence. A medical note is required upon arrival.
Step 2: Student collects an excused slip from the office with the medical note.
Step 3: Student gives the excused slip to their coach/advisor before participating.
A parent may call a student in for personal reasons as long as they arrive before 2nd hour and are within their 10 excused absences for the year. Unexcused absences mean no participation until the next full day. Final decisions rest with the Dean of Students or Principal.

Have you scheduled an upcoming College visit?
In order for your College visits to be excused, you MUST do ALL of the following:
1. You must have a pre-arranged absence form completed, signed and TURNED IN.
2. You must forward the email that you receive from the college or technical school confirming that you have been scheduled for a visit to Mrs. Stadler at cstad@omro.k12.wi.us.
3. You must provide proof you attended the visit, such as a photo in front of that school's sign, a note on school letterhead, a photo of your sign in, etc...
Please make sure you are following the correct procedure so that your absence is excused!
University/ Recruiter Visit Procedure
In order for students to meet with recruiters, the recruiter needs to set up appointments THROUGH GUIDANCE and they should be scheduled during study hall.
