Hello, hello Walgrove Families!

Wow - this past week was wonderful seeing everyone! I sincerely hope that all students are loving being back at school, seeing their friends, meeting new ones, and enjoying their new classes!

Please remember good attendance is so very important. That is how students learn, thrive, and be a part of the community. Having good attendance makes a solid difference in academic achievement and student social/emotional well-being.

As a reminder, every Tuesday students are dismissed at 1:32 p.m. This allows teachers and staff time for professional development to make our instruction even better.

Have a great wek!

Stacy Rajab, Principal

Back to School Tips Back to School Tips

Here are five simple back-to-school tips:

  1. Establish a Routine Early
Begin practicing school bedtimes, morning routines, and arrival times before the first day to help your child transition smoothly. Don't forget: School starts at 8:03 everyday. Making sure yoru child arrives on-time helps to alleviate stress.

  2. Talk Positively About School
Build excitement by discussing new opportunities, friends, and learning experiences. A positive attitude helps children feel confident.

  3. Read Together Every Day
Spending just 15–20 minutes reading each day strengthens vocabulary, comprehension, and a lifelong love of learning.

  4. Stay Connected
Read the Walgrove Weekly Newsletter and communication from Friends of Walgrove. Check your child's backpack daily, and communicate with your child's teacher whenever you have questions or concerns. Join your classroom Class DoJo (links/QR codes coming soon!)

  5. Encourage Independence
Help your child practice age-appropriate responsibilities such as packing their backpack, organizing materials, and completing homework routines.

Together, we can make the 2026–2027 school year a successful, joyful, and memorable one for every student!

Great News! To help make communication with teachers easier, we will be moving to Class-Dojo school-wide. Teachers will be communicating with each family through e-mails, weekly newsletters, and Class Dojo. We will no longer be using WhatsApp for school-communication. We will be able to share pictures, events and updates with you. The QR code for our school is below if you're ready to jump in!
