Good People,

I trust that your summer has been full of learning opportunities for your students. What your kids do in the summer always contributes to helping our middle level students mature and grow into more independent humans. Thank you for being the primary teachers of your student and for partnering with us for this upcoming school year in the education of these great humans - they are really great kids. We look forward to seeing you all on Open House night!

In Partnership,

Naida Grussing-Neitzel, Ed.S.

Principal

Maria Sanford Middle School.

Back to School Information Back to School Information

Please see last weeks' newsletter for more information about back to school!

Attendance

  • Great news! You can now report absences in the parent portal of Infinite Campus. This will save our staff time and effort, so we are grateful! Here is a helpful video to show you how: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/X-JvDKN3RTo Please let the main office know if you need an activation key to set up Parent Portal for Infinite Campus.
  • As you know, daily attendance and on-time arrival gives each student the opportunity to start the day with a healthy breakfast and time to socialize with their peers. Being in school on time and ready to learn is critical to academic achievement and creates a sense of belonging in our school community.

Immunizations

  • Please be sure to get your student the immunizations they need. Students are required to receive certain vaccines for school or submit an exemption. It is good to check for all grades, but don't be surprised that 7th graders need to get immunizations before school starts! Please see this chart for more information:https://www.health.state.mn.us/people/immunize/basics/readyk12.pdf

Transportation

  • New App for transportation is a massive improvement! Please see the slides about my ride below.
  • New safety and security on EVERY bus which have dual-facing dash cameras on ALL busses, improved GPS accuracy, immediate access to video with improved resolution, and each special education bus will have iPads for checking on/off studentss Finally, this system will track and report driver safety and vehicle incidents and has a panic button for drivers for issues that require immediate attention.
  • City Bus card information
