MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS

Dear Lindblom MSA Eagles and families,

Our first week of school was a success on all fronts! Our admin team saw so much energy, joy, and connection as we visited classrooms. City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin and the Deputy Chief of High Schools, William Klee, visited our campus this week. They both acknowledged the welcoming and engaging culture in our school.

Trusted relationships between admin, staff, and students are at the center of positive school culture and making learning meaningful. Our teachers engaged students in community-building activities aligned with our schoolwide focus on Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching (CLRT) practices. We will continue to honor student identity and experience, paired with critical thinking, problem-solving, and thoughtful reflection throughout this year.

I want to recognize our students for showing maturity and responsibility with our schoolwide tech turn-in policy. Thank you to those who are dropping students off on Damen or Honore (at 63rd, 62nd, or 61st Streets) to reduce congestion. We also appreciate the parents who respectfully engaged in our morning drop-off process and partnered with us to solve this shared challenge. Now that you’ve seen the process in action, if your schedule allows and you’d like to volunteer for 1–2 mornings, please reach out to AP Meadows.

Last but not least, our school parking lot is for staff only. To keep traffic moving in the mornings, please don’t try to exit through the staff lot entrance; it’s closed on purpose so staff can enter safely without backups.

Thank you for contributing to a strong start to this school year. I’m looking forward to all we will accomplish together in the weeks ahead. Together, we are building a school year grounded in learning, growth, and community.

Together we rise onward & upward,

Principal Banks

Attendance Matters

Students will be in school for 176 days for SY26. Let's make everyday count! We will be in constant communication with families when your student has shown patterns of attendance concerns.

Beginning next week, if a student is late to school/class it is expected that they retrieve a tardy slip. Please familiarize yourself with the following routine:

  • Students must ALWAYS have LMSA School ID on them, whether physical or electronic.

  • Students must manage their time during the passing period to ensure they make it to class on time.

    • Students who are tardy to class will need to visit the tardy scanners located on each floor to scan in and retrieve a tardy pass.

    • Students must arrive in class within three (3) minutes from the time indicated on the tardy pass.

    • Any student without a pass in the hallway after the initial hall sweep will be escorted to the nearest tardy station to receive a pass.
