Mrs. Mary Lee Dennis, the NLRSD Child Nutrition Director, provided the Board of Education with an update on the department's practices and procedures throughout the school year.

The Board of Education approved the extension of the Act 1240 waiver, which deals with teacher licensure, flexible scheduling, class sizes, and teacher load.

The Board of Education approved a recommendation to provide Crestwood Elementary School employees with a one-time bonus. This money comes from the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education and is based on student achievement from last year's ACT Aspire results.

Arkansas Law requires all schools to receive this money to form a High Gains Committee, consisting of the principal, a teacher, and a parent. The Crestwood Elementary High Gains Committee recommended using the funding to pay a one time non-recurring salary payment (one-time bonus) to the employees who work at the school.

Mr. Brian Brown, the Chief Executive Officer, presented the Board of Education with an overview of the budget for this school year. Taking a look at this year's budget allows the district to make financial decision and projects for the next school year.
