City Hall Excursion
Fourth and fifth graders from the Next Gen Leadership Club visited Herriman City Hall this week, where Mayor Palmer spoke to them about how city government works and how he and the City Council are working to increase tax revenue and improve the city. What a great way to help our students develop civic-mindedness, such a critical part of our IB Primary Years Program. Thanks to Ms. Thompson and Ms. Johnson for organizing the trip.
One of the many things that sets Providence Hall Elementary apart from other elementary schools is how we care for our students. Few schools have a nurse on staff for the entirety of the instructional day. We've got Nurse Ralynne. She's not new to Providence Hall, and maybe your kiddo has already been to her office for a scrape, a bruise, or a tummy ache, but who exactly is this super caregiver?
Nurse Ralynne came to PHES with a wide range of experience in the medical field. For two years she worked as an Emergency Room nurse at Primary Children’s Hospital, where she worked with kids experiencing all kinds of trauma. Before that she cared for all the most precious babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Ralynne also worked in hospice care. Through the culmination of those experiences Ralynne possesses a wealth of medical knowledge and a deep commitment to patient care. If you have seen Ralynne in the act of caring for kids, you know she has a genuine love for helping them feel safe and supported.
We are grateful to have such a dedicated professional looking after the health and well-being of our students.

Yep, this is a non-Friday when students are permitted to wear colors other than the dress code colors , so long as they fit into the St. Patrick's Day color scheme. Yep, the day is also SPRING PICTURE DAY, so if your kiddo is getting their photo taken maybe...a green dress or tie?
To sum it up, your student can dress in typical dress code attire OR dress up for picture day AND/OR dress in St. Patty's day themed clothing.

Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Students have been asking the question can I bring my own recess equipment from home? The answer is no. We ask that students leave all their footballs, soccer balls, wall balls, jump ropes, etc at home. But great news we have recess equipment for each grade level. Each grade level has their own recess cart that goes out at their recess time. However as you can imagine some items get lost over time. If you would like to purchase items to help refill our recess carts we would appreciate it. Thanks
