Celebrating our Learners! Celebrating our Learners!

Student of the Month Assembly

At the end of each month, we are celebrating students who demonstrate our CRISP habits. CRISP stands for Collaboration, Responsibility, Inquiry, Service, and Perseverance. As your young teens grow to adults, these habits will help them become the best people they can be. Congratulations to:

  • 6th Grade: Averi Griffin - Averi is a model student, kind and helpful friend, and is always diligent by putting in her best effort!
  • 7th Grade:Titus Miller - Titus has earned the Student of the Month award for consistently demonstrating excellence in his C.R.I.S.P. habits. He works well with others, contributing thoughtful ideas and supporting his peers to achieve shared goals. He takes responsibility for his learning and actions, showing reliability and integrity in all he does. His curiosity drives him to ask meaningful questions and seek deeper understanding through inquiry. Through acts of service, he shows kindness and a willingness to help others in the school community. Above all, his perseverance stands out—he faces challenges with determination and never gives up. considerate and kind.
  • 8th Grade: Annie Rice - This student consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a willingness to persevere through challenges both in and out of school. Their attendance is excellent, and when absences do occur, they take initiative to complete missed work without reminders. They are a self-starter who approaches group work and partnerships with a positive attitude. Always ready to take on new challenges, they tackle assignments with focus and determination.
  • Electives: Martin Ordonez - He has shown perseverance with getting work turned in. He brought all of his classes up to passing last quarter. He was able to bring his grade up to a B in my class through hard work. He is always respectful in my class.

Lost and Found Lost and Found

Have you ever wondered where your children leave their sweatshirts? Well, the answer is ALL OVER THE SCHOOL! We have collected a cornucopia of sweatshirts, lunch boxes, water bottles and more. The Lost and Found has exploded beyond our regular collection box and is now spread out in the main atrium. Students have been asked to retrieve their items for the last two weeks.

Please take time to search for your child's belongings when you are here for conferences on November 3rd.

We will send unclaimed items to the resource center on Tuesday, November 12.

We would like to thank families for their flexibility as we navigate some transportation issues. Garfield 16 is communicating with families when problems arise.

There are some students who have been riding on buses that are not the routes assigned to them. This causes overcrowding. In addition, we have students riding who have not filled out the Bus Paperwork. If you child rides a bus, please ensure that they have turned in the appropriate paperwork. The paperwork is available in the main office. This ensures that our routes are planned accordingly and that all students are transported safely.
