MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Greetings Lindblom MSA Eagles,
Our seniors represented Lindblom MSA with pride this weekend, looking incredibly classy in their fabulous prom outfits. Beyond the fashion, what stood out most was the confidence, joy, and accomplishment our students carried throughout the evening. Thank you to our families and staff for helping create memorable experiences for the Class of 2026.
Prom 2026 Winners
Prom King: Kendrick Sellers
Prom Queen: Sunyatta Johnson
King's Court: Ohene Marshall, Ethan Rush, Steven Cunningham, Michael Steenes
Queen's Court: Aniya Bass, Indigo Blu Gray, Jazmyn Blackbubrn, Paige Gordon
We also want to celebrate the strong partnership between our school and families reflected in our recent Parent Supportiveness survey data. Students reported overwhelmingly positive experiences with parent involvement and encouragement:
93% of respondents shared that their parents encourage them to work hard at school.
87% said their parents show they are proud of them.
83% reported that their parents listen when they need to talk.
81% shared that their parents help them make decisions.
Our overall Parent Supportiveness score also grew from 51 in 2024 to 58 in 2025 and remains strong at 56 in 2026. These results reflect the care, accountability, and encouragement our families provide every day.
At the same time, between 6% and 20% of students reported experiencing limited support in some areas. This reinforces why we continue investing in stronger collaboration through our PAC, BAC, and ALSC partnerships. We all want what is best for students, and deepening family-school connections helps ensure every Eagle feels supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us in helping our students soar.
Together we rise onward and upward,
Principal Banks
~Swoop, swoop!
We received Lindblom MSA’s initial FY2027 budget allocations this past week. While the current allocations present challenges, this is only the beginning of the budget process. We are carefully reviewing every line item, advocating with CPS leadership for additional funding and staffing support, and preparing for the anticipated position appeal process. We will continue to prioritize stability for our staff and students while protecting the academic programming and experiences that define Lindblom MSA. Our top priority remains supporting instruction and ensuring uninterrupted learning experiences for students.
The first of several FY2027 budget meetings will take place on Tuesday, May 19, at 5pm, as we continue planning thoughtfully and responsibly for the upcoming school year. You are welcome to attend in person or view the meeting online at: https://meet.google.com/kje-oiha-mzx
Dismissal Updates
Dear Parents,
Graduation season has officially arrived! Our campus is incredibly proud to serve as a host site for many local schools celebrating this wonderful milestone.
Because we are hosting these special events, our campus will be much busier than usual. Due to limited supervised space, we kindly request that all student pick-ups occur as close to 3:05 PM as possible. Thank you so much for your cooperation, warmth, and help in keeping our dismissal running safely and smoothly during this exciting time of year!

Pep Rally Take Over is seeking 1–2 students from Lindblom, in good academic standing, to serve as ambassadors for the T.I.P. (Teens in the Park) Fest hosted by Pep Rally Takeover in partnership with the Chicago Park District.
We are specifically looking for students who have an interest in media, journalism, and storytelling, and who would benefit from hands-on experience in these areas. Selected ambassadors will have the opportunity to assist with event coverage, content creation, and behind-the-scenes production, helping them build valuable real-world skills. If you are intersted, please email AP Morales, akgreen2@cps.edu. Students that fit the criteria will be provided with an application that must be completed by May 18.
BE LEADERS
Student Spotlight
Congratulations to the AC Track Team! They are headed to super regionals Tuesday at Englewood STEM and hopefully the city championship. The girls came in 3rd overall for Southside Championship and the boys came in second.
Congratulations to Jaila Scott and Kaden Abdur-Rahman! We're proud of how Jaila and Kaden represented Lindblom, our Urban Planning Projects, and their idea for improving the city's transit network. The Chief and Network Chief who oversee N16 schools had glowing things to say about their ideas and the concept of the Urban Planning Fair itself. Jaila and Kaden's work will have a life beyond their project, as their presentation helped convince the funders that supplies for our Urban Planning Fair were worth funding, and they said they hoped to be able to continue to fund us in the future.
Congratulations to Jonathan Watkins, Xochitl Frausto-Morales, and Moriyah Blakley! They served on a panel, along with their STEM-7 teacher, Mr. Sidarous. This was for the Research Practice Forum at the UChicago Consortium hosted with CPS' Department of Student Voice & Engagement. The event was focused on centering student experience and student adult partnerships. They were part of the panel, along with other educators and students, and they were able to share their experiences using student experience data - celebrations and lessons learned. We are so proud of them!
Congratulations to the Lindblom AC Girls Soccer Team on being the 2026 CPS Score Network 11 Girls Soccer Site Champions with a perfect 7-0 record! This is the Lindblom AC Girls Soccer Team's 5th consecutive season being crowned Site Champions.
Congratulations to the Advanced Theatre students! They did a wonderful job performing their original devised piece called Equal?, a social justice piece about discrimination against hair, skin and clothing.
