DAY TWO
The Complexity of Living a Simple Life by Joanna Gaines
Before we get into the nitty-gritty of making some WHOLE changes....take a moment to read some wise words from everyone's favorite farmhouse guru, Joanna Gaines.
What in your life needs a little simplicity?
What dead weight can be cut?
What formula works for you and your situation?
Talk about simplicity with the person next to you. Use the simplicity lens as we move into making a plan.
Making a Plan
Right now you probably have hundreds of areas of need and change circling around in your head. This can be very overwhelming. The goal of this class is to provide you with the space, the time, the resources, and the facilitation to attack some of these areas that need balance and change.
- On the provided paper, do a mental dump of areas that need your attention. Try and capture at least 15. Make sure your list is a mix of home needs and school needs.
- Share your list with someone else in the group. Do they have one that should be on your list?
- Let's remember to use a few filters with our list. The purpose of your list (and this course for that matter) is not to eliminate things we don't enjoy or feel guilty doing the things we do enjoy. The focus should really be on how to become more efficient with our time in order to do more we enjoy. Ask yourself, "What really matters?" here and how can I get to what it's really all about.
1. Name it!
2. Claim it!
3. Aim it!
