Principal's Message

Dear Alta Mesa Families,

A big thank you to everyone who came out for our Fall Carnival! It was wonderful to spend time with you all and see how much fun everyone had. A special shout-out goes to the Parent Booster Club for organizing such a fantastic event, thank you for all your hard work!

October 20th–24th is Digital Citizenship Week at Alta Mesa. During the week, we will focus on being safe and responsible when using technology. Students will learn how to keep their information secure, be respectful online, and search the internet safely. Students in 2nd–5th grade will also have lessons on cyberbullying and online safety, while all students will experience age-appropriate Digital Citizenship topics.

Our lost and found is starting to pile up again! As the weather gets colder, please remind students to take their jackets, sweatshirts, and other belongings home each day. Let’s help everyone stay warm—and keep the lost and found manageable. Labeling jackets and sweatshirts is a great way to help students keep track of their things.

It's going to be another great week as an Eagle!

Thank You,

Kristen Crites

Red Ribbon Week - October 27th - 30th

October 27th - 30th is Red Ribbon/Spirit Week at Alta Mesa. We will have themed dress-up days for the week and we will be allowing Halloween costumes for all TK-5th grade students. Costumes need to meet the dress code, and fake blood of any color is not allowed. In addition, weapons and masks associated with costumes as well as inflatable costumes need to stay at home. Costumes worn to school should not be scary or gory as we are a TK - 5th school, and some students, especially little ones, may have a negative adverse reaction to such costumes. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Dress up days:

Monday, October 27th: Christmas for Halloween - Wear your Christmas attire

Tuesday, October 28th: Sports Day - Wear your favorite sports attire

Wednesday, October 29th: Pajama Day - Wear your pajamas

Thursday, October 30th: Costume Day - Wear your Halloween costume!

The dress code applies (see handbook on the AM website)

Fake blood of any color is not allowed

Weapons (toy or otherwise) are not allowed

Costume masks are not allowed

Scary or gory costumes are not allowed.

No inflatable costumes. They are cute and fun, but not functional at school.
