E-Learning Day Tomorrow, Jan. 12

Naperville 203 Families,
All Naperville 203 schools will have an e-Learning Day tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 12, due to projected high snowfall and strong winds throughout the day – which have placed Naperville under a Winter Storm Warning.
Students will receive at least five hours of asynchronous instruction or school work through their Canvas accounts. Staff members will be available from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to respond to students' needs. Teachers will not provide live streaming/concurrent instruction or synchronous learning. Instead, students will be given assignments aligned to current learning progression and goals.
All after-school activities at the elementary and middle school levels are canceled for tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 12. A decision on high school after-school activities for tomorrow, and weekend activities at all levels, will be communicated tomorrow.
The State of Illinois recognizes e-Learning days as regular attendance days, thus they will not need to be made up. Naperville 203 will use e-Learning days in lieu of emergency days, which were previously used for emergency school closings.
As always, the decision of whether or not to have school during times of inclement weather is made with the safety of our students and staff as our top priority. Information will be sent separately by Champions and YMCA to those families who have registered for onsite childcare.
We acknowledge the inconvenience closing school may cause and we appreciate your understanding of our need to put the safety of students and staff first.
