Thornton Creek Digest
April 24, 2026
From the Principal
Happy Friday, TC Community,
What a wonderful week back on campus—and what a beautiful day to take us into the weekend. Kindergarten and first grade picked a great day for field trips! As we look ahead, we are excited to be growing our community and will begin interviewing in the coming weeks for positions in Kindergarten, First Grade, and PE. A big thank you to our BLT parent representatives who are stepping in to support these interview teams and ensure strong family voice in the process.
On Monday, we kick off our Community Pantry Drive—huge shout out to our social worker Channon and her intern Declan for organizing this meaningful effort; please take a moment to check out the flyer below for ways to contribute. We also want to thank Sarah, one of our Kindergarten parents, for facilitating Tuesday’s Kids and Tech talk. It sparked rich conversation, and I am excited to see what grows from that initial connection.
I hope to see many of you at WOW Art Night next week.
Wishing you all a restful and sunny weekend,
Brandee

Thornton Creek Home and Hygiene Drive | April 27 - May 15
Hello Dragonfly Families! Thornton Creek’s Community Pantry helps supply our families with food staples, cleaning supplies, and other household essentials every day of the school year. Currently our pantry is in dire need of home and hygiene products that are less frequently available at food banks, such as laundry detergent, paper towels, toothbrushes, and soap. While the pantry is always open for these donations during school hours throughout the year, we are holding a Home & Hygiene Essentials Drive to raise awareness of our community’s needs. Donations can be dropped off at the front office from April 27 – May 15. Thank you for your support!
🌸 Mother’s Day Flower Fundraiser – Pick Up at Thornton Creek! 🌸
Thornton Creek is excited to serve as a pickup site on Saturday, May 9th, for the SPS Mother’s Day Weekend Flower Fundraiser! This is a wonderful opportunity to support both our school and the broader SPS community. Families can purchase beautiful bouquets while giving back—$10 from each bouquet will go directly to Thornton Creek, supporting our school’s Food Pantry, and another $10 will go toward supporting Title I schools across the district.
We are especially grateful to our TC families who are volunteering their time to help host pickup and make this event possible. Thank you for supporting our community and helping this effort bloom!
