Hello Pirates!
Mr. Kniep and I have had a busy week going in and out of all the classrooms. At the end of the week during our reflection, we mutually agreed that we observed Pirate Pride! It was really cool in one situation watching a student correct another student's behavior, stating: "Stop that- that's crab mentality. What can we do different where we each win"? This was also showcased when a group of students jumped in to help around several of the classrooms—proof that our kids are learning from our example of “see a need, fill a need.” Watching the students problem solve and to continue contributing to fostering an inviting environment at East Minico has been terrific to observe! As staff, we are so eager to continue observing this engagement!
This has also strongly been observed in watching staff throughout the week. Mrs. Murphy even created a space-themed bulletin board showcasing our whole staff, and parents have told me they can feel the positive energy from our East Minico staff this year. You’ve set a tone this year that is nothing short of inspiring, and I couldn’t be more proud to work alongside such a dedicated, creative, and student-focused group of teachers. Our pirate ship is sailing both smooth and with pirate pride!
I hope everyone enjoys their labor day weekend and come in on Tuesday both fresh and invigorated!
