Parent- Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, April 16th
Wednesday, April 16th students do not have school, but teachers will be in the building from 8 to 3:30 holding conferences with families. In general, these conferences are held with students and families that need to be checked in with for various reasons. Teachers have started to reach out to families to schedule conferences already. However, if you are interested in a conference, and have not been contacted, please reach out to your student's teacher(s) and they will be happy to add you to the schedule. Thank you for your ongoing support and communication.

Review of Cell Phone and Hood Expectations
Last week, we spent time reviewing school expectations with your students. One of the topics we addressed was the expectation that hoods and hats remain off while inside the school building. This policy helps ensure students are easily identifiable throughout the day. While it may seem like a small rule, consistently following these expectations sets the tone for respecting all school guidelines. We’re happy to report that by the end of the week, we saw a noticeable improvement. Thank you for continuing to reinforce this expectation at home.
Additionally, we’ve noticed an increase in students using their cell phones during the school day. At Scott, our policy is “Off and Away.” If a student has their phone out, they will receive one reminder. If it continues, the phone will be placed on the teacher’s desk. Continued misuse will result in the phone being taken to the office, where it can be picked up at the end of the day. If the issue persists, a parent or guardian will need to pick up the phone. Repeated incidents may lead to the student being required to turn in their phone to the office at the start of each day.
We know how tempting it can be for students to check their phones, but staying focused during the school day is essential. Please help us by reminding your student of the importance of staying engaged in class. As always, you can reach your student by calling the main office, and students can contact you by visiting the office as well.
Thank you for your continued support.
Congratulations, Mia Hand!
Mia came in second place in the Middle School Chemistry division of the Chester County Science Research Competition, which qualified her to move on to the Delaware Valley Science Fair. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend that fair due to sickness, but we wanted to be sure we still celebrated her accomplishment. Congratulations, Mia. We are very proud of you!

April's PBIS Focus... Attendance
Students that remained safe, respectful and kind over the month of March by not being referred to the office for disruptive behavior, inappropriate language, fighting or a physical confrontation watched a movie in their WIN classes last Thursday. Students that did not meet that expectation went to the auditorium to complete an assignment with Mrs. Lamothe and Mr. Altland. The assignment focused on the right way to handle frustration and anger.
This month students are focusing on getting to school. There are 18 school days in April. Students that are in school at least 16 of the 18 days will be going outside for recess on Friday, May 1st. We are hopeful that students will be in school to get the most they can of the reviews for our PSSA testing at the end of the month as well be present for the testing days.
Thank you for supporting this initiative!
