Community Service Champion Community Service Champion

I want to congratulate Ella Rosa '25, as we recognized for her exceptional contribution to the community and her school on Tuesday evening at School Committee. This is an example of how our We Are DR community is expanding and growing. When students come together, either singularly or in groups, to work towards a common goal, the possibilities are endless as they embody the Portrait of a Graduate. They not only improve the school and the community, but also develop themselves in the process. Thank you for igniting this spirit in our students as we shape their future and the future of the district. Well done, Ella! Her story can be found by clicking here.

Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School

The Music Department at the high school is preparing for the Winter Concert. The show will take place at the high school auditorium on Wednesday, Dec. 20th @ 7:00 pm. Our Winter Concert never fails to get us all in the holiday spirit.

The Art Department has been super busy as the students have been creating some amazing artwork. The hallway galleries are always being updated with new pieces. Visitors are welcome to go and see the displayed work. Our AP Art and Design students are hard at work on their year long portfolios. The Art Club meets weekly where they collaborate on a variety of art projects including poster designs, commissions, and murals. And, as always, the yearlong preparations for our annual Art Show in May are underway.

Coffee Hour with Dr. DiGioia

In a recent “Coffee Hour” Meeting, parents of students on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) had the chance to engage with our Special Education Director, Dr. DiGioia. The session covered crucial topics, including a discussion on the Needs Assessment, the development of a Draft Vision for our Special Education program, updates on student Progress Reports, strategies to address Bullying, and insights into the creation of NEW IEPs.

The gathering was made even more enjoyable with the serving of coffee and muffins, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The highlight of the session was an interactive Q&A, allowing parents to directly address their queries and concerns with Dr. DiGioia. The active participation and valuable contributions made this Coffee Hour a meaningful and collaborative experience.

Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect and collaborate within our Dighton-Rehoboth Special Education community.

Exciting News: Grant Approval for NEW IEP Implementation in 24-25 School Year!

We're thrilled to share that our district has successfully secured a grant for the implementation of the NEW Individualized Education Program (IEP) in Massachusetts, set to roll out during the 24-25 school year. This initiative represents a significant step forward in enhancing our commitment to providing the best possible education for all students.

To ensure a seamless transition, our dedicated staff will undergo thorough training to familiarize themselves with the intricacies of the NEW IEP. At each building level, our team will work diligently to develop exemplar IEPs, setting a high standard for individualized education tailored to the unique needs of every student.

As part of our commitment to transparency and collaboration, we will be organizing an informative evening dedicated to reviewing the NEW IEP with parents. This session will provide an opportunity for you to gain insights into the changes, ask questions, and better understand how the new framework will benefit your child.

Stay tuned for forthcoming details on the training schedule for our staff and the evening session for parents. Your engagement and support are crucial as we embark on this exciting journey to enhance the educational experience for all students in our district.

We look forward to sharing more updates soon!
