Message from our President Message from our President

🍂 Fall is here, and cooler temperatures are finally arriving!

As we settle into the season, I want to take a moment to thank Linda Porter and her committee for all of their hard work in putting together such a wonderful agility trial. These events take a tremendous amount of time, planning, and dedication, and we are so grateful for everything that goes into making them a success.

A big thank-you as well to all of our members who supported the trial, whether by entering your dogs, helping with setup, lending a hand during the event, or pitching in wherever needed. Our club is stronger because of the time and enthusiasm our members contribute!

Looking ahead, we have another opportunity to get together soon at the winery for our Annual Meeting! 🍷 It will be a great chance to catch up with fellow members, enjoy some time together, and celebrate our club and the people who make it special. We hope to see many of you there!

Wishing everyone a beautiful fall season filled with crisp mornings, colorful leaves, and happy times with your bearded collies! 🐾🍁

Agility Trial Recap

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the NCBCC Agility trial at the Winchester Sportsplex last weekend! We really appreciate all the help! There was lots of positive feedback from exhibitors about the event and how helpful the club members are. If you missed it, you can plan ahead to help with our February Agility trial. Reach out to Linda Porter, if you’d like to assist tweeddale@myactv.net

Nominating Committee

We’re looking for two volunteers to serve on our Nominating Committee!

This is an easy way to give back to our club and help support its future without a significant time commitment. You don’t need any special experience, and you can participate from anywhere—no need to be in a specific location!

If you’ve been looking for a simple way to get involved and support our club, this is a great opportunity.

Interested in helping? Please email ncbccpresident@gmail.com to let us know you’re available to serve.

We’d really appreciate your support. Thanks for all you do for our club!

Come Join the Fun and Help at Our October Agility Trial!

Our club’s Agility Trial is coming up October 23, 24, and 25 at the Winchester Sportsplex, and we’d love to have your help!

You don’t need to know anything about agility to volunteer! There are plenty of simple tasks that anyone can help with, and experienced members will be there to show you what to do. It’s a great way to support our club, spend time with fellow dog lovers, and see some fun agility action!

Thursday evening, we need help setting up, including the crating area, tables, and ring gating. Many hands make light work, and we could really use some extra help getting everything ready!

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we need volunteers for jobs like leash running (taking a dog's leash from the ring entrance to the exit), score running (taking score sheets to the trial secretary), and bar setting (putting jump bars at the right height).

These are easy ways to pitch in, even if you’ve never helped at an agility trial before. You can volunteer for just part of a day if that works better for your schedule.

Please consider coming out and lending a hand. Our trials take a lot of teamwork to run smoothly, and this is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to support the club and make the weekend a success!

Please call or text Linda at 240-315-3890 or email tweeddale@myactv.net to let her know when you can help.

Thanks so much! We hope to see lots of familiar faces—and maybe a few new ones—there!
