Henrietta ISD Board Notes
Board of Trustees Regular Meeting | August 7, 2025
The meeting opened with the call to order, invocation, pledges, and public comment, followed by board action on several items. Trustees approved the UIL Homeschool Opt-Out Policy, the 2025-2026 Student Code of Conduct, Head Start personnel, the Professional Development Waiver, TTESS and TPESS evaluators and timeline, SHAC Committee membership, the Personal Devices Policy, and the SLAC Policy.
A public hearing was held on the 2025-2026 tax rate, and the board adopted an ordinance to set the tax rate for the year. Trustees also approved the use of Title I funds for the 2025-2026 school year, appointed a delegate and alternate for the 2025 TASB Delegate Assembly, and approved amendments to the district’s budget.
Reports were presented on August in-service plans, STAAR preliminary results, and student activities. The PTECH update highlighted dual credit and career pathway opportunities for students, while the construction report shared progress on the high school project, including drainage work, extra concrete pours, new tennis court surfacing, and completed updates in the 4th and 5th grade hallway and library.
In the Superintendent’s Report, updates were given on board goals, Texas Strategic Leadership work, safety and security, bond projects, legislative developments, and handbook updates. Summer programs such as STEAM Camp, Summer Fun Camp, and Jumpstart were well attended and positively reviewed. The district is fully staffed, with classrooms ready for the first day of school, and student leadership groups already engaged in back-to-school activities. Athletics programs are underway with high participation in volleyball, football, cross country, and band.
The report also noted new CTE courses and equipment, continued work on the five-year CTE plan, and preparations for parent and community engagement events like Meet the Teacher Night and the H-Town Takeover. Enrollment updates were shared, along with upcoming calendar highlights, including Senior Sunrise, the Kindergarten Parent Breakfast, and the start of fall sports.
The meeting concluded with an executive session to discuss personnel matters, followed by board action to approve new hires and the superintendent compensation.
