World Autism Month

April is recognized as World Autism Month, a time to celebrate neurodiversity, promote understanding, and highlight the strengths and individuality of each learner we support.

At Second Home, we are proud to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities every day by fostering inclusive, supportive, and individualized learning environments. Our focus remains on helping each individual build meaningful communication, independence, and confidence in their own unique way.

This month, our participants are focusing on strengthening essential functional daily living skills through kitchen-based activities and food preparation routines. April is a great time to highlight independence, seasonal eating, and confidence in the kitchen as individuals build practical, everyday life skills.

his month, our participants are focusing on strengthening essential work readiness skills through order fulfillment activities. Through guided practice in fulfilling orders, individuals are learning how to follow multi-step directions, organize materials, check work for accuracy, and complete tasks within a sequence.
