Message from Principal Grebb:

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween! It’s always nice when a holiday like this lands on a Friday night.

Today, Morgan Nelsen finished 10th at the UIL State Cross Country Meet, an incredible accomplishment and a testament to her hard work and dedication.

Last night, the Lady Hawks Volleyball Team swept McCallum and is now advancing to the Area Round of the playoffs! Round 2 will be played Tuesday night in Brenham.

The Hawk Band will be performing in the Area Round of the UIL contest tomorrow at the Pfield. They perform at 1 pm, if you haven't seen their show stop on by, it's amazing.

This Friday November 7th, we’ll host our annual Community Pep Rally at Hawk Stadium at 8:45 a.m. We’re inviting all community veterans to attend. Please use the RSVP form below and help spread the word to any local veterans you know. Breakfast will be provided at the stadium following the pep rally.

Reaching November always brings a sense of relief as we inch closer to a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle of school life. Let’s make the most of these next three weeks!

FAFSA is Open (Class of 2026) FAFSA is Open (Class of 2026)

Dear Senior Parents and Guardians,

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is officially open for the Class of 2026! Completing the FAFSA is the most important step in securing financial aid for college, trade school, or career training programs.

This application determines eligibility for:

  • Federal grants (money you don’t repay)

  • Work-study opportunities

  • Low-interest federal student loans

  • Many state and college-specific scholarships

How the FAFSA Works This Year:

  1. The student begins the FAFSA with their own username and password.

  2. The student will then invite one parent/guardian (called a “contributor”) to log in with their own username and password.

  3. That parent completes their section, and then the FAFSA is submitted.

Important: Only one parent needs to fill out the FAFSA. Which parent is used depends on the family situation:

  • Married parents (to each other): Both parents’ information is included, but only one parent logs in as the contributor.

  • Divorced/separated parents: Use the parent the student lived with most in the past 12 months (or who provided more financial support).

    • If that parent is remarried, the stepparent’s info must be included too.

  • Single, never married parent: Only that parent’s info is needed.

Why act quickly?

  • Some financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Many colleges require the FAFSA on file before awarding scholarships.

  • Even if you don’t think you qualify, it’s still worth completing.

  • You’ll need your 2024 tax information to complete the form.

The Central Texas Chapter-Southern University Alumni is thrilled to once again introduce students to our beloved alma mater. We would love to visit your campus to share more about this opportunity.

Jaguar Preview Day is when we take high school juniors and seniors to visit Southern University (SU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a great opportunity to learn about all the campus has to offer in terms of academic programs, student life and the culture of the only HBCU system in the nation.
