Family Homework
Greetings from Hingham Middle School!
This week we are asking all families to take some time to complete either the "Returning Students Re-Registration" or the "New Student Registration" in Aspen.
ALL families must complete this process, as it replaces many of the paper forms previously sent home with students, and provides us with important information about our students.
Thank you!
Attention All Parents and Caregivers! Action Needed!
In order to keep our Aspen information accurate and up-to-date, we ask that ALL families either register (for students new to HPS) or re-register (for returning students) following one of the two procedures below.
At this time, only about 20% of families have completed this process!
This workflow includes annual health information and medication authorization needed by our nurses, so parents are asked to please complete it as soon as possible.
Returning Student Re-Registration (OLRR)
Families with students currently enrolled in Hingham Public Schools must complete the Online Re-Registration (OLRR) process each school year.
Instructions for Returning Student Re-Registration (OLRR): [View HERE]
Families NEW to the Hingham Public Schools
If you are enrolling for the first time in the Hingham Public Schools, please refer to the New Student Registration Instructions before beginning the process.
Instructions for creating an Aspen Family Account:[View HERE]
Instructions for New Student Registration (OLR): [View HERE]
Current Hingham families should not use New Student Registration unless they are enrolling a child who has never attended Hingham Public Schools. Selecting New Student Registration for an existing student may create duplicate records.
Please help us to reduce distractions in the classroom!
Remind your middle-schooler to secure their phone in their
locker, leave them in their backpacks while on the bus,
and please refrain from texting them during the day!
Thank you!
Students in Ms. Corcoran's class spent time reflecting on the events of September 11, 2001, and how our country was forever changed by them.
Grade Six Team Logo T-shirt Design Contest!
Attention, 6th-grade artists and designers! We are hosting a Team Logo Design Contest, and we want to see your creativity! Design a logo that represents your team.
Your design should include:
Your team name: Navigators, Explorers, or Voyagers
Your graduation year: 2033
Keep it simple and black and white (remember this is going on a T-shirt)
Be sure to include your name and your homeroom teacher on the back of your entry. All designs should be submitted to Mrs. Duncan in Room 106 or Mrs. Farris in Room 104 by Tuesday, September 15th.
Students will vote on the top three designs from each team, so make your logo creative, original, and representative of your team! The winning design from each team will be featured on your team’s 6th-grade T-shirt.
Late Buses
We will begin our Late Bus routes on Monday, September, 14, for those students remaining after school to participate in clubs, activities, intramurals, or receiving after school help with a teacher. These buses will run Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and depart HMS at approximately 3:10 each day.
These bus routes and numbers differ from our 2:00 ones, so please review the information in the attached file with your middle schooler prior to their first time taking a Late Bus home, in order to find the bus that will bring them closest to their home.
Staff will be on hand to make sure students know which bus they should take.
And speaking of Clubs and Activities . . .
HMS Activity Fee Reminder
As a reminder, all families are asked to pay the HMS Activity Fee each year. These funds help to defray costs associated with after-school clubs and activities.
You can complete this process by clicking here to find the Unipay site.
Please enter “Hingham School Department” where prompted for "City/Town/Department", select “MS Activity Fee” and complete the required fields.
Should you prefer to pay by check, you can complete the attached form and return it to the HMS office.
This fee is separate from the PTO dues.
If you need assistance with this or any other school related fees, please do not hesitate to reach out to either a school administrator, a school counselor, or any faculty member you feel comfortable with.
Thank you!
