Kohlberg Elementary Newletter
Week of 3-31-25
Coyote families, as we approach the STAAR testing period, we want to ensure that all of our students feel prepared, confident, and supported—whether they are testing or not. This is an important time for our campus, and we appreciate the role that families and community members play in encouraging our students to do their best.
For students who will be testing, we encourage them to:
✅ Get a good night’s sleep before test days
✅ Eat a healthy breakfast for energy and focus
✅ Arrive at school on time and ready to do their best
✅ Stay positive and take their time during the test
For students who are not testing, they will continue with their daily learning, and we appreciate their support in helping create a smooth testing experience for their peers.
Parents, you can help by encouraging a positive mindset, ensuring your child is well-rested, and reinforcing that their best effort is what truly matters.
Thank you for your partnership in making this a successful testing season for everyone!

Word of the Month for April--HOPE!
We will be talking all month about how we all have hard things that we face at certain times in our lives, but having HOPE can help us get through these hard times. When we can focus on the good things we have--like family, friends, food to eat, a place to live, fun times, beauty all around us in nature, music, good books, those things that make us happy--we can have HOPE. Believing that these seasons will pass, and that we will get through it, and that we can learn important lessons from the hard times can make all the difference in our attitudes. We can grow stronger in our endurance and character when we go through our hard times with hope. We all have bad days and bad things that happen from time to time, but the way that we handle these things can be a really big teaching tool for our children. Helping our kids to have a positive and hopeful outlook on life even in the midst of difficulties is a huge gift.
Here is a video that you may want to preview and share with your child this month.
Even when hard things happen, we can remember what is most important and have hope.
Thank You Kohlberg Family!
Thank you, Kohlberg Coyote Faculty, Staff, parents and students for making last Wednesday's Be a Buddy Not a Bully Walks a big success.
It was wonderful to see so many of our families join in our Be a Buddy Not a Bully Walks! It looked like everyone had a great time. I love how our Kohlberg families support all of our events on our campus.
Special thanks to Mrs. Coco, PTA volunteers, PE coaches, office staff, and our custodians for all of your help. We have now completed all of the requirements to become a designated "No
Place for Hate" campus. Our banner is on the way!
As we end our school year, let's continue to encourage our students to wear their orange t-shirts each Wednesday (and staff, too) so that we can reinforce the message of "Be a Buddy Not a Bully" for the last ten weeks of school. Maybe even start each day with a mantra as a reminder. When I taught second grade, our class started every day by doing a chant of "Work Hard! Be Nice!" We would yell it, whisper it, echo it with boys/girls, etc. It really seemed to help my students to focus their efforts on these two things.
This is a time of year that our students really need a lot of motivation. Let's get our kids all on the same team and excited to finish this year STRONG. Thank you again, parents, for all you o to support your students' education.
