Travel During COVID

Travel increases your chances of spreading and getting COVID-19. Just as we are beginning to enjoy longer warmer days and looking forward to Spring break, rates of COVID-19 are increasing in Framingham and across the Commonwealth and our country. Effective March 22, 2021, Governor Baker replaced the MA Travel Order with a Travel Advisory. You can read the advisory here.

If you're traveling soon, please keep reading!

We want your children to be safe and healthy to attend school for the remainder of this school year. If you are preparing to travel in the coming weeks, please read the important information below to protect and keep your family healthy and travel safe.

  • Travelers who received a negative PCR test administered not more that 72 hour prior to their arrival in MA.
  • Anyone who is entering MA for fewer than 24 hours
  • Anyone who is returning to MA after being out of the State for fewer than 24 hours

If You are Staying with Family or Friends...

If you, someone you live with, or anyone you plan to visit is at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19, delay travel and stay home. If you must travel, stay in a separate accommodation like a hotel, guest house, or short-stay rental.

Tips for staying overnight or hosting overnight guests

  • Wear masks while in shared spaces inside the house.
  • People from different households should stay at least 6 feet away from each other at all times.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially upon arrival.
  • Improve ventilation by opening windows and doors
  • Spend time together outdoors. Take a walk or sit outdoors at least 6 feet apart
