๐ Our New Student & Family Guidebook
We are excited to share a working version of our new FMS Student & Family Guidebook for SY27! This guidebook is designed to be a go to resource for families throughout the school year.
Inside, you will find important information about morning arrival procedures, daily modes of operation, student expectations, schoolwide procedures, supports, resources, and much more to help every student start the year successfully and confidently.
We encourage all families to review the guidebook together with your student and bring your questions, feedback, and ideas to our upcoming Family Town Halls with Principal Lewis.
Your partnership is essential to our success. Together, we can ensure our students are ready from Day One and make SY27 our Best Year Yet at FMS! ๐พ๐
Meet Our New Teachers
Allie Weber, French Teacher
Allie is entering her tenth year of teaching French and has experience working with both middle and high school students. She loves sharing her enthusiasm for language and culture with her students, believing that language learning fosters curiosity, broadens horizons, and helps students better understand both the world and their place within it.
Lauren Phonnathong, Career & Tech Education Teacher
Her words to us: Hi West Chester Area School District families and staff! My name is Lauren Phonnathong, and I am excited to be joining the district this fall as a traveling Technology Education teacher. Some staff and students may already know me, as I spent the past year substitute teaching in the district and recently completed my student teaching at Pierce Middle School.
I recently graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Secondary Education and a concentration in Earth and Space Science. One of the highlights of my college experience was having the opportunity to travel to Japan and Norway, where I learned about technology, sustainability, and different approaches to problem-solving.
I am so excited to begin my teaching career with the West Chester Area School District and to become part of such a great school community. I look forward to meeting and working with students, staff, and families throughout the district!
Go Cougars and Chargers!
Ashley Solack, 7th Grade Reading
Her words to us: Hi! Iโm Ashley Solack, and Iโm excited to be joining the Fugett community this year. This is my second year of teaching, and I graduated from West Chester University in May 2025. Iโm originally from Wilkes-Barre, PA, and in my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and trying new restaurants. Iโm excited to get to know the Fugett community and make this a great school year!
Megan Dowdall, School Psychologist
Her words to us: My name is Megan, and I am excited to join the FMS team as your new school psychologist! I have worked as a school psychologist for six years, and my favorite part of my job is supporting students and collaborating with colleagues to help students thrive. Outside of school, I recently got married, and my husband and I are working on restoring our 1850s farmhouse. In my free time, I enjoy doing Pilates, walking my dog Freya, and traveling. I am looking forward to getting to know the FMS staff, students, and families!
Kayley OโLeary, 6th Grade Science
Her words to us: I am so excited to join the staff at Fugett Middle School as a science teacher! Growing up in Chester County along the Brandywine River inspired my love of the outdoors, and I enjoy kayaking, hiking, and exploring nature. I graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Middle Level Education and recently earned my masterโs degree from Neumann University. When Iโm not in the classroom, you can usually find me camping in a national park, or hiking at a local preserve.

๐ฒWCASD Activity Fee Reminder๐ฒ
The West Chester Area School District has a tradition of offering high-quality extra-curricular programs for students. To support the costs of these programs, an Activity Fee is applied to extra-curricular programs supervised by a contracted coach, advisor, or director. This yearly fee allows a student to participate in one or multiple funded activities, and the maximum amount a family may pay per year is $250.
The 2026 - 2027 cost per student* for WCASD Middle Schools is $87.00.
*Family Fee Cap is $250 maximum.
Our district is committed to ensuring that no student is denied participation in an extra-curricular because of cost concerns. Families experiencing financial hardship can find information regarding financial help on our website or through your school caseworker.
Once your student is rostered to participate in a funded sport or activity, please pay the activity fee by using the online payment method, PaySchools Central. Other payment information is located on our Activity Fee Website.
If you have questions, please visit our, email activityfee@wcasd.net or contact your schoolโs athletic department, coach, or advisor. As always, thank you for your continued support of our districtโs schools and programs.
