Calling All Parent Volunteers!

Each week, our Neihardt Knights have the opportunity to spend their hard-earned Castle Coins at the Shield Shop table!

We would love to have parent volunteers help out by collecting Castle Coins and assisting students as they shop.

Thank you for supporting our Knights — your time and enthusiasm make a big difference!

Use the link below to view the dates available and sign up to volunteer.

NEIHARDT TRAFFIC FLOW INFORMATION NEIHARDT TRAFFIC FLOW INFORMATION

Traffic gets congested all around our school as we dismiss 468 students within ten minutes each day. We need your help, cooperation and above all, patience, as we focus on student safety. Please read the following information and share it with anyone who may be picking up your child(ren).

School’s Role:

  • Plan logistics of dismissal procedures with student safety in mind

  • Dismiss students on time

  • Provide staff members and safety patrol students to supervise students at crosswalks connected to the school grounds

  • Assist in connecting students with the party picking them up

  • Monitor overall safety of students

What we ask of parents and students:

  • Follow parking and traffic guidelines (see map)

  • Follow the one way traffic during arrival and dismissal times on Drexel and 152nd Street

  • Pull forward as far as possible in the drop-off/pick-up lanes as traffic progresses

  • If you need to leave your vehicle, park in labeled parking areas (see map)

  • In the drive through double lanes on the west side of the building, remain in your vehicle to help us clear the lanes more efficiently

  • Do not park in the daycare loading zones or crosswalks

  • Respect what the staff ask of you

  • Model respectful behaviors for students

To avoid congestion, consider the following options:

  • Park on Monroe Street and direct your child(ren) to meet you at your vehicle

  • Carpool

  • Walk to school

  • Bike to school (bike racks are located at the blacktop area on the East side of the building, you must provide a lock)

HALLOWEEN PARADE AND COSTUME INFORMATION HALLOWEEN PARADE AND COSTUME INFORMATION

Halloween Parade and Costume Information

We will have a Halloween Parade at school Friday, October 31, from 3:05- 3:15 p.m. Parents are welcome to come watch the parade. Classroom parties will be handled by teachers and staff. The parade will take place outside. Students will exit the building out the front doors and proceed west on Drexel Street and proceed down 152nd and reenter the west side doors.

Below are our guidelines for costumes.

1. Costumes should come to school in a bag or sack with your child's name written on the outside. Children should not wear costumes to school in the morning.

2. Costumes should be age appropriate, no weapons, no fake blood. Questions about costumes may be directed to Dr. Cooper before the parade. On the day of the parade, questionable costumes will be sent to the office and phone calls made home.

3. No face makeup will be used for the school parade. It is uncomfortable and disruptive to wear all day. Students will not be allowed to put on face paint or hairspray at school.

4. We do not have enough restroom space for all students to change into their costumes in the privacy of a restroom. Students should be able to put their costume on in their classrooms.

5. Children do not have to wear costumes. Students without costumes can still

walk in the parade.

6. Parents wanting to come observe the parade are invited to do so. Please plan to arrive at 3:05 to observe the parade outside. There is no need to check in at the office.

Students will return to the classroom following the parade to gather belonging. Dismissal will follow as usual at 3:30. Parents are asked to wait outside until students are dismissed.
