May 11-17, 2025

Good morning Cannon families,

đź’źHappy Mother's Day to all our Cannon Moms! The beautiful and unparalleled bond of love shared between kids and mothers is honored and celebrated on this day!

What a week at Cannon! Field trips, Special Olympics banquet, Alley Cats GCISD Choir Competition, teacher appreciation week, field day - galore! We had another amazing Cannon Field Day of fun and friendly competition! Elementary Field Day is packed with exciting games and activities designed for everyone to enjoy. From classic races and relays to silly challenges and team-building fun, it's a fantastic opportunity to cheer on your classmates, show off your skills, and make lasting memories. We were so glad to see so many of our families able to attend! Thank you for bringing your energy for a day of laughter and active play! Thank you to Coach Hood and Mrs. Pilar for organizing such a fun day, and to Nurse Kendra for her first aid nursing care!

A HUGE Thank you for showing our staff so much LOVE! We want to extend a TREMENDOUS THANK YOU to our OUTSTANDING PTA for showering our staff with so much love and appreciation this past week; A Cinco De Mayo Lunch, covering lunch duty, Cub print Keychains, Flair Pens, a new CUB HAT, and Sonic Drinks - Wow, you spoiled us!

We would also like to extend gratitude to the following local business for their generosity to help celebrate our staff with the following donations: Los Amigos- Churros, Chuys Southlake- Creamy Jalapeno, Salsa, & Queso, Tommy Tamales- Tamales & Salsa, Esparazas- Door prize Gift Card for a staff member, HTeaO, and Lenny's Subs for field day sandwiches!

We also want to give a shout out to the Grapevine High School Student Organization - Mustang Ink (DECA organization) for designing the Cannon hats for staff! We LOVE them! Several students and parents asked me how they could get one. We are working with GHS Mustang Ink to have that option at the beginning of the school year - stay tuned!

More gratitude to give! Mrs. Morris received a Schroeder Grant earlier this year, and her supplies are now officially at Cannon. We can't wait to see these new materials in action!

Mrs. Gable also received a grant from the Colleyville Garden Club to help maintain our beautiful Cannon garden - granite, garden supplies, soil, and so much more! What's priceless are the smiles of our Cubs as they cultivate and harvest our garden!
