Waiting List for Preferred Classes
When: August 18, August 19, and August 20 are the three days students can enter a request for the waiting list.
Requirements:
- only students will be able to add their name to the waiting list
- the requested class must have space available
- the student meets the class's pre-requisites
- the student is not scheduled to be in a class at that time. In other words, the student has an off period during the requested class (cannot be a student's lunch period).
Important Details:
- Complete the request on a Google Form: fliers will be posted at CCHS, a link will be added on the CCHS website, an email will be sent to students, and an email will be sent to parents through a Newsletter.
- Students can only request to be added to 1 class.
Parent Communication:
- Parents will receive a Talking Point message on 08/24/2026 indicating their student was approved or denied.
Our Advice:
- Study the master schedule very carefully. It will be important that the student knows when the class is offered and selects the correct class AND class period.
Level Changes
- Level change up: 8/18/2026-9/8/2026
- Level change down: 9/8/2026-9/26/2026
- Teachers, coordinators, and parents must all agree that a level change is appropriate.
Schedule Errors
Contact your student's counselor
Reasons to contact your student's counselor:
- If your student doesn't have a full schedule (9th/10th graders=at least 6 classes/semester, 11th/12th graders=at least 5 classes/semester)
- If your student doesn't have at least 4 core classes each semester (English, Math, Social Studies, Science, and World Language are core classes)
