The Wallin Way Weekly Newsletter
Friday, December 12th
Good Evening K9 Families,
What a fantastic week it’s been! Our classrooms have been full of energy, curiosity, and so much learning. Students are collaborating with their peers, asking thoughtful questions, and diving into new ideas with excitement. It’s truly a joy to see our young learners growing and exploring every day.
We also want to share an important safety reminder for dismissal. Lately, we’ve noticed some cars inching forward while students and staff are walking up and down the car rider lines. If cars are moving while students are walking, it poses a serious safety concern for our little ones.
To help keep everyone safe, we kindly ask that you:
-
Pull all the way up behind the car in front of you.
-
Put your car in park while students and staff are moving through the lines.
-
We also kindly suggest turning your car off while waiting in line during dismissal. We know the colder weather makes it tempting to keep cars running, but because our students are small and directly in the path of car exhaust, even a few minutes can affect their health.
We truly appreciate your cooperation in keeping dismissal safe and smooth for all our students.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

School Information
Attendance and Transportation Reminders
We kindly ask all families to notify both the classroom teacher and the main office if your student will be absent for any reason. Clear communication helps us ensure accurate attendance records and maintain a safe, organized school environment.
Additionally, if there are any changes to your child’s transportation plans—such as switching from a bus rider to a car rider—please inform the main office directly. Our office staff will relay the information to the appropriate teacher.
Lastly, for the safety and efficiency of our drop-off procedure, please pull all the way forward in the car line and have students exit the vehicle on the side of the school.
Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly!
Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
Morning Drop Off
For the safety of all students, we kindly ask that families do not park at Ira Jones during morning drop-off. Instead, please use the designated car line, which is designed to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.
To help maintain a steady flow, we also ask that drivers remain in their vehicles at all times during drop-off. Following these procedures ensures a safe and smooth start to the day for everyone.
Afternoon Pick Up
Please remember to turn off your car while waiting to pick up your student after school. Running cars pose a safety risk for students and teachers walking up and down the car lines, and it's also important to reduce the fumes in the air for everyone’s health. Thank you for helping us keep our school environment safe and healthy!
