WINTHROP WEEKLY January 28th, 2026
WINTHROP WEEKLYJanuary 28th, 2026

Dear Winthrop Families and Caregivers,

It is a short week due to snow but students are back and working hard in their classrooms.

Thank you for helping to keep students safe at arrival and dismissal.

Announcement from our Physical Education Staff:

The PE team would like to remind everyone that sneakers are a requirement for physical education classes. Students should have comfortable and appropriate shoes while in school and boots should be reserved for outside play.

If you have not had a chance to fill out our interest survey on family workshops please click this link.

Thank You,

Winthrop Administration

Winthrop Nurse Update

Dear Winthrop Families,

Welcome back after a few fun filled snow days! I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. We are trying to get kids outside to enjoy some fresh air as much as the weather allows- a friendly reminder to please send your child with their snow gear to school each day. If you have any outgrown snow gear at home that you are willing to donate- the school would gladly accept! With the current messy weather, I am handing out a lot of extra pairs of pants. If you have any children sized drawstring/legging type pants available to donate our community would be grateful, especially boys sizes.

High volumes of flu/covid/ and flu-like illnesses continue to be seen in our area as well as across the country. Thank you so much for continuing to keep your children home from school when they are ill. This includes not only fevers, but also deep/uncontrollable coughing, diarrhea/vomiting, rash of unknown origin, and severe sore throat and/or headache. Please remember to use the Dismissal Manager or call the school to let us know your child will be absent. It is always helpful to send in a doctor's note if your child was seen. Students may return when they are fever free for 24 hours without medication and generally feeling better.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Stay healthy!

Green Team Update

Roasted sweet potato fries were a HUGE hit amongst all of the grade levels at last week's Harvest of the Month. Thank you to the SLC students who helped serve the delicious and nutritious treat at all of the lunches!
