Congratulations Westchester!
News from the Principal
Greetings WE families,
Every school year is a chapter in the Westchester Crew story, and we are so grateful that our Crew includes so many amazing educators. While the time here with some may have been a chapter rather than the whole book, their energy and dedication, which have been shared with us, have certainly left a lasting mark on our community.
The impact of these crew members' journey at Westchester has been far-reaching for so many students, staff and parents. Each of them brought fresh perspectives and new ideas that challenged us to grow. This work is hard, and they jumped into the trenches to serve our students. The professional and personal bonds formed don't end because they are lasting connections.
"Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together." — James Cash Penney
As these amazing educators and staff move on to your next "chapter"—whether that's a new career path, or a fresh adventure—know that you leave us better than you found us. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us!
Thank you to the following staff for your hard work and dedication to Westchester!

Spring Assessments📝
All of our universal screening assessments for the Spring have been completed. These computerized adaptive tests help teachers, parents, and administrators make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth. You will receive a letter, along with the STAR reports, in your child’s Thursday Communication folder on May 21st. As a part of the Georgia Early Literacy legislation, we are sharing the Universal Screening results. You will receive a letter communicating whether an academic risk has been identified or not. This allows us to identify needs and plan for appropriate interventions early. You may find the STAR Family Information helpful as well.
Report Card Time! 🕐
We are pleased to share that your child's Final Report Card will be available in the Parent Portal on Thursday, May 28th. We encourage you to review the report card with your child, celebrate their accomplishments, and discuss any areas where additional support may be helpful. If you have questions or concerns about your child's grades, please don't hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or school administration. We are committed to partnering with you to support your child's growth and learning.
Directions for accessing grades in the Parent Portal are on page 23 of the Grading and Reporting Handbook.
