This will continue to be a busy week for VCMS students and staff!

REMEDIATION WILL BE MONDAY AND TUESDAY OF THIS WEEK. WE WILL RETEST ON WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.

REMEMBER: No cell phones are allowed in testing. Students CANNOT be dismissed until the entire sites are completed.

We will still be located at VCHS, as they are still repairing our building.

We will have an 8th grade Promotion Celebration Wednesday, June 8th from 3-5pm.

Early in April we opened the Jaguar Hope Pantry in conjunction with Gang Free, Inc., and The Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. We are the first in the area!!!

This pantry will assist our students and families that are struggling with food and housing insecurities. We served over 110 students/parents the past week! It is hard for a hungry child to learn! If your child was able to visit the pantry please have them return with their bags on friday.

If you have a need, or know a Jaguar family member who is struggling, please let us know. This is the purpose of the pantry!

Thanks to Gang Free, our students were able to participate in learning a new sport. The Edmonds Tennis Foundation, assisted by a grant from the Venus and Serrina Williams Foundation, came to increase the exposure for rural students to tennis. It was so successful that they will be returning to continue the lessons. Who knows maybe one of the pictured students will be a new Olympic Gold Medal winner!!!

Leadership Vance came to visit VCMS to see some of the great things that are happening in Jaguar Nation! They visited the z-Space Lab that was being used by Ms. James homeroom to review some science standards. The students answered questions and showed the visitors the great things that the z-Space Lab allows students to accomplish.

The safety of our students and staff is of my utmost concern. There is no place for bad behavior at VCMS. Speak to your child and review the expectations that have been in place since August. Our goal is to have every child in class, learning, and reaching academic expectations. If they are unable to behave, consequences will be delivered.

We have great things to accomplish and we cannot become side tracked by the misbehavior of the few! This is told to the entire student body every day!

Good behavior is essential in the classroom, at school, and on the bus. Please remember that riding the bus is a privilege NOT a right! If a student fails to behave on the bus, you will have to find another way to get your child to school. Please talk to your child and reiterate the need for good behavior.
