Dear Del Sur Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend with your Explorers! We made it through our first week on a new campus, and I could not be more proud of how our Explorers have adapted to so many changes. From learning new arrival and dismissal routines to navigating a different lunch and recess space, and doing it all during a major heat wave. Our Explorers showed flexibility, patience, and resilience.

A huge thank you to all of you for your patience and grace as we continue to fine-tune our routines and make our temporary home feel a little more familiar. I know the commute is longer, traffic is heavier, and parking is limited, and I want you to know how much we appreciate your partnership and support. Most importantly, it has been wonderful to see our students settling in, reconnecting with friends, and getting back to learning. We are grateful to be together, and we are going to continue making the most of our time at Stone Ranch while we look forward to the day we can return home to Del Sur.

Excused and Unexcused Absences - What's the Difference? Excused and Unexcused Absences - What's the Difference?

Dear Del Sur Families,

We would like to provide some clarification regarding excused and unexcused absences, including how absences are classified, how they may impact make-up work, and how all absences contribute to chronic absenteeism.

One important distinction to remember is that a parent or guardian reporting an absence does not automatically make the absence excused. California law identifies the reasons that schools may classify as excused.

Please check out the pdf attached below to understand more about excused and unexcused absences, and chronic absenteeism.

New ParentVue Mobile App New ParentVue Mobile App

Edupoint has released a modernized ParentVUE (New) mobile application and retired the older ParentVUE app. Families should download the updated version to maintain access to student grades, schedules, and attendance records. Here are some easy directions you might provide to families:

How to Get Started with ParentVUE (New)

  • Remove Old App: Delete the old ParentVUE app from your phone first so the new version functions correctly.

  • Download: Search for ParentVUE (New) directly in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or follow the upgrade prompt inside your legacy (old) ParentVUE app.

  • Connect to District: Open the new app, swipe through the intro, and search for your school district using your postal zip code.

  • Log In: If prompted, select "Already Activated" if you already have an account, and sign in using your existing username and password.

The Playground Gates open at 8:25am.

Starting on 8/31 - 4th and 5th Grade Students will head to their classrooms on their own beginning at 8:40, similar to how we do arrival for these grades at Del Sur. The exception is Ms. Miller's class, she will continue to escort her class to the Boys and Girls Club until they move to the portables.

Parents/caregivers will drop students off at the front of the gate. Students who would like breakfast may head to the lunch tables to eat.

Before school begins, students may either:

  • Eat breakfast

  • Play on the blacktop, or

  • Line up at their teacher's cone.

Several teachers and staff members will supervise students during this time.

8:38 AM: The bell will ring, signaling students to head to their classroom lines on the blacktop.

8:40 AM: The bell rings, and teachers will greet their students at the cones and walk their classes inside.

8:45 AM: Gates are locked; any late arrivals will enter through the Main Door and check in at the Main Office.

We are closed campus, parents and guests are required to check in at the Main Office for volunteering.
