Thanksgiving Break November 25-29: St. John's Closed

As we enter this season of gratitude, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for each member of our incredible community. Your unwavering support, dedication, and love make St. John’s the special place it is.

Please note that the school will be closed for Thanksgiving Break, Nov 25-29. We hope this time provides an opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy the warmth and happiness of family and friends.

May your Thanksgiving be filled with love, laughter, and the many blessings of the season. We are truly grateful for the joy you bring to our school family.

Meet Chris Hanson, our newest member of the SMT

The St. John’s School Ministry Team (SMT) is thrilled to warmly welcome its newest member, Mr. Chris Hanson. The SMT, which functions similarly to a school board, plays a vital role in providing accountability and advisory support. It helps shape school policies and strategic planning to assist the principal and leadership team in achieving the school’s spiritual, academic, and financial goals. We are confident that Chris’s experience and heartfelt dedication will be a tremendous blessing to our community as we continue our heritage of educating hearts and minds in Christ’s love.

Chris Hanson has been an integral part of the St. John’s community since 2018. As a proud father of two children, Elly and Levi, who have been thriving at St. John’s since Kindergarten and are now in 6th and 3rd grades, Chris is deeply invested in the school’s mission and future.

Professionally, Chris is a seasoned business consultant at RSM in Denver, bringing over 20 years of expertise in IT transformation, strategy, and outsourcing. His wealth of experience and strategic insight align with his passion for supporting St. John’s values-based education and fostering a vibrant, inclusive community of students, staff, and families.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chris enjoys skiing, exploring the outdoors, tackling home improvement projects, and helping his children with piano practice. He is also an avid traveler, music enthusiast, and science fiction fan.

The Hanson family’s connection to St. John’s extends beyond the classroom. Chris’s wife, Molly, brings her warmth and dedication to her work in the school office, and in 2024, the Hansons became members of St. John’s Lutheran Church. They are grateful for the strong sense of community and shared values they’ve found at both the school and the church.

The Hanson family’s commitment and involvement enrich the fabric of St. John’s, contributing to a strong foundation for the school’s future success.

Chris joins Dr. Phillip Barnard, Mrs. Kristina Ziehler, Miss Abi Newell, Mrs. Becky Newquist, Mr. Matt Lazzeri and Mr. Jason Koester on the team.

Tickets are still available for our St. John's School Christmas Special: December 18, 2024

Did you know the Christmas in Harmony programs have designated space for you to give a "shout out" to your favorite student(s)? You can send a short note of encouragement here.

Click here to send your student a Shout Out.

We are excited to invite you to our long-awaited combined Christmas celebration: Christmas in Harmony. Students from our Kindergarten through Fifth Grade classes will fill the air with joyful music, under the direction of Mrs. Mari Koester and Mrs. Nissa Newsome. Adding to the festive spirit, our middle school drama class, led by Dr. Erica Flesher and Mr. Matthew Walton, and our Handbells Elective, led by Miss Krystal Thompson, will present a beautiful dramatization of the nativity story, bringing the Gospel to life in a moving and memorable way. This joyful celebration will feature many beloved Christian songs, giving you the chance to sing along to cherished carols and reflect on the journey of Joseph and Mary, and the birth of Jesus.

With most of our school participating, we are offering two performances:

  • Tuesday, December 17, 6:30 pm SOLD OUT
  • Wednesday, December 18, 9:15 am

Both shows will require complimentary tickets for entry. If possible, we kindly ask that those with more flexible schedules, including grandparents, consider attending the Wednesday morning presentation. This will help ensure everyone can enjoy the event comfortably. We have limited the number of tickets to 6 tickets per family.

We hope you will join us for a time of music, reflection, and celebration of the true meaning of Christmas!

Cherub Choir

We are overjoyed to share how beautifully our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade Cherub Choir sang for the St. John’s church congregation this past Sunday. Their angelic voices filled the sanctuary with joy, bringing smiles to everyone in attendance. It was a true testament to their hard work and the nurturing guidance of their dedicated choir teachers Mrs. Koester and Mrs. Newsome.

We are so proud of these young students for their commitment and for using their voices to glorify God and bring happiness to our community. Their performance was a heartwarming reminder of the importance of faith, music, and the loving bond we share at St. John’s.

Thank you to all the families who supported their children in preparing for this special moment, and to everyone who joined us in celebrating their talent.
