A Few Words From the Principal
Hello, Fall!!
This week was a busy week here at MT and we thank those of you who were able to find time to join us for Showcase Night on Wednesday! We love sharing with you what our students are learning and doing here at MT.
Next week is the last full week of 1st quarter. Please take some time to sit down with your student and help them finish this first quarter strong. Encourage them to reach out to their teachers if they have questions or need help. Teachers can also verify is assignments are still outstanding.

Good Things at MTMS
Cover the Rover Fundraiser!💵🐶
Have you heard? This Wednesday, October 7, before school, MT will get a special canine visitor. Her role is to cheer us on as our school Covers the Rover. That's right, we have a giant, dog-shaped cutout that will go on the wall of the commons, and the challenge is to cover it completely with dollar bills. All funds collected will go to Kansas Specialty Dog Service, which trains assistance dogs for individuals and facilities. Jordy, our visitor, is a graduate of the Washington, Kansas program and a working dog in our district. Let's have some fun and raise money for an important cause!
Scholastic Book Fair Wrap-Up
📚Thank you to all those who supported the MTMS Book Fair last week!
We were able to raise just over $1000 for new Scholastic Books for our library thanks to the purchases from our amazing families!
Book Club
Our MT Book Club is underway, and we are reading up a storm. Currently reading “Sleepless” by Gordan Korman, the kids split into groups to read and book talk. We make predictions and add to a running list of questions while we read.
PTA
Thanks to those parents who donated snacks for parent/teacher conferences last week, as well as those who have supported our fundraiser, which covered the cost of a pizza/salad dinner catered by The Other Place during conferences.
Haven’t had a chance to donate to the PTA yet? It’s not too late! We have many more activities to come this year that will support our teachers and our students alike, and your giving will support these activities. The suggested donation amount is $50-$100 per student, but any amount is appreciated!! To donate, scan the QR code below, or click on this MT PTA Donation Link.
