BES Parent Weekly Email
December 12, 2025
From the Principal
Parents/Guardians,
We had the best week at Belton Elementary. I'm so proud of our students and teachers, and the hard work they have shown as we have all been anxious for Christmas Break! We had a slam packed week - Drop Everything and Read Day, Panda Breakfast (Student of the Week), Christmas Movie Pajama Party, and a Glow Dance.
We had our Positive Behavior Celebration (Glow Dance) on Friday. Students had to have 80% or higher on Class Dojo and not have any suspension in order to attend. Our school goal is always at least 80% of our students being able to attend. Our students crushed this goal! We are blessed to have awesome students at our school!
- 3rd Grade - 91%
- 4th Grade - 86%
- 5th Grade - 91%
***Don't forget that Friday, December 19 is a half day. We will begin dismissing students at 11am. They will have the option to eat lunch before leaving school.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

What Are Your Child's Grades?
BES sends home a paper copy of quarterly Progress Reports and Report Cards to every student. Here are two ways to keep up with your child's grades throughout the school year...
- Weekly Progress Email - You should be receiving a weekly email with your child's progress report. If you are not, please call the office to get your email address updated in our system.
- Parent Portal App - Download the PowerSchool App today to receive grade notifications!
- Parents who've created an account, but unable to login should contact the PowerSchool Helpdesk. Provide your name, your child's name, and a contact phone number where you can be reached when emailing.
Paint the Rock
PTO wants to invite you to "Paint the Rock" for your child's special occasions (birthday, sports/dance tournament, etc.) The cost is $20 per day. All the details and to register are in the link. Reserve your date so that it does not get filled up!

Attendance Reminders
Tardy - To be considered on time, the child must be sitting in their classroom at 7:45am. At 7:45am, our front door locks. The parent/guardian/driver will be expected to park their car and sign their child in at this point. Officer Hodges, our School Resource Officer, will be there to remind whoever is dropping off your child. Our instruction begins at 7:45am, so being late for school results in loss of instruction.
Early Dismissal - Students will not be allowed to be dismissed between 2:00-2:30pm for Early Dismissal. Please plan to pick your child up before then, if you have a doctor's appointment. Repeated Early Dismissals could result in an Attendance Plan.
Absences - It is imperative that your child is at school. We have a new system, and will be monitoring attendance very closely. You are allowed to turn in up to 5 Parent Notes to cover an unexcused absence. An example of a Parent Note would be a low grade fever, throwing up, etc. If you take your child to the doctor, please be sure to turn in the medical note. A student is considered truant with 3 consecutive absences or 5 unlawful absences. At this point, an Attendance Meeting will be scheduled with the Parent/Guardian and administration to create an Attendance Plan. Continued truancy will result in turning the plan over to the Anderson County Board.
