Principal's Message
Hello Ockley Families,
We know it is difficult to face the reality of ongoing budget shortfalls, both for the remainder of this school year and for the year ahead. In response to the unexpected budget gap this year, and in addition to freezing school-level budgets, the School Board has approved furlough days across the district. Unfortunately, some of these days will directly impact student instructional time.
As we close out the 2025–26 school year, there will be no school for students on the following dates:
- May 1, 2026
- June 9, 2026
As a result, the last day of school for students will now be June 5, 2026.
Additionally, previously scheduled late start/early release days on April 22 and May 13 will be converted into full instructional days. Students will follow a regular school schedule and will no longer be released early (1:45 PM) on those days.
Our 8th Grade Promotion is currently scheduled for June 5. However, we may need to move this event to June 3. We will share a final confirmation as soon as possible.
We understand that these changes may create challenges for families and appreciate your flexibility and support as we navigate these adjustments together.
In Partnership,
Julie Rierson

In case you all have not heard the crazy cool news, our first online auction brought in $13,000! We are so thankful to everyone who participated in the auction, and to all the incredibly generous businesses and community members that contributed. We hope that, as you use your various gift cards/memberships/classes, you'll consider taking a moment to let them know their support made a difference.
If you scouted the auction and thought "this is fine but it needs more plants" than have I got news for you! The plant sale through the Peninsula Optimist Club is officially up and running. Go to peninsulaoptimistclub.org to check it out. You can place your orders through April 30th, just choose Ockley Green Supporters as the nonprofit you want to support. Pick up will be May 7th & 8th.
Save the Date: Our next OG Supporters Community Wide Meeting is April 7th from 5:30 on.

Congratulations to our OBOB Team
The Oregon Battle of the Books regional tournament was held on March 14th at Benson High School, and our very own Ockley team made it to the Elite Eight! Twenty-nine teams competed, and Ockley's only loss was to the team that ended up winning the entire tournament (Winterhaven).
Our group made Ockley Green proud! Congrats to the Edgar Allen Penguins: Jack Verble, Gus Lear, Wolfgang Miller, Colette Miller, Augie Pena.
We are so proud of them, and all of our OBOB participants this year.
