5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
The readings for the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C revolve around the themes of being called by God, responding to His call, and embracing discipleship. They highlight the experiences of the prophet Isaiah, Paul’s acknowledgment of God’s grace, and Simon Peter’s encounter with Jesus and his subsequent decision to follow Him.
- First Reading – Isaiah 6:1-2A, 3-8: Isaiah saw the Lord on His throne, felt unworthy, but was cleansed by a seraphim. When God asked for a messenger, Isaiah offered to go.
- Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 138: I will thank and praise God for His kindness and truth. He answers me and gives me strength. All will praise Him for His great glory and enduring kindness.
- Second Reading – 1 Corinthians 15:1-11: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose on the third day. He appeared to many, including me. By God’s grace, I preach, and you believed.
- Gospel – Luke 5:1-11: Jesus told Simon to fish in deep water. They caught so many fish that their nets almost broke. Simon, James, and John were amazed. Jesus said they would now catch people. They left everything to follow him.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who attended the Seolnal(설날) joint Korean/English Mass and all the amazing volunteers who made the Tteokguk(떡국) and Traditional Korean Game event so special. We served over 500 bowls of Tteokguk, and it was wonderful to see so many parishioners come together to celebrate and enjoy traditional Korean games.
Seeing so many smiling faces was a true joy, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers. Whether you prepared and served Tteokguk, poured hot soup, washed dishes, led and supervised games, or helped with cleanup—your hard work made this event such a success.

Infant Baptism
An infant baptism ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 8, at 3 PM. Parents with children under the age of 7 who have not yet been baptized are encouraged to register at the parish office. Please choose a godparent and a baptismal name in advance. If the parents are not Catholic or not registered with the parish, a meeting with Father Michael will be required.
