A Message from Principal Peguero

Dear Families,

The start of the school year is fast approaching! We’re excited to welcome all of our students back on Tuesday, August 26th. Please note that this will be a minimum day for all students. CDC, TK-8th grade begin at 8:00am and 9th -12th grade at 8:30am.

This week, our dedicated teachers are on campus, working hard to prepare for the upcoming year. They are engaging in workshops focused on understanding the academic needs of their students and exploring ways to best support each child's success. Additionally, teachers are busy setting up their classrooms and forming new teams to foster a positive learning environment and strengthen our school culture.

As we come together to kick off the year, we would love to offer a small token of appreciation to our hardworking staff. If you’re able to contribute snacks or refreshments, they will be gladly accepted on Thursday, Friday, or Monday.

We’re looking forward to an amazing year with all of our students and families!

Estimadas familias:

¡El inicio del año escolar se acerca rápidamente! Nos complace dar la bienvenida a todos nuestros estudiantes el martes 26 de agosto. Tengan en cuenta que este será un día de clases reducidas para todos los estudiantes. Los grados CDC, TK-8 comienzan a las 8:00 a. m. y los grados 9-12 a las 8:30 a. m.

Esta semana, nuestros dedicados maestros están en el campus, trabajando arduamente para prepararse para el próximo año. Participan en talleres enfocados en comprender las necesidades académicas de sus estudiantes y explorar maneras de apoyar el éxito de cada niño. Además, los maestros están ocupados preparando sus aulas y formando nuevos equipos para fomentar un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo y fortalecer nuestra cultura escolar.

Al reunirnos para comenzar el año, nos gustaría ofrecer una pequeña muestra de agradecimiento a nuestro dedicado personal. Si pueden contribuir con refrigerios o refrigerios, serán bienvenidos el jueves, viernes o lunes.

Electronic Device Restriction

At Avalon TK-12, we are committed to upholding our upcoming restrictions on personal devices in order to protect instructional time and prioritize our students’ well-being and focus. Beginning this school year, cell phones will not be permitted during the school day and instructional time. If a cell phone is seen or used, it will be treated as a prohibited device, and parents or guardians will be contacted to retrieve it from the school.

We recognize that cell phones are intentionally designed to be addictive, and we understand that this adjustment may be challenging for some students. Your partnership is crucial to our success in maintaining a positive learning environment. We encourage you to speak with your children about these changes and help them prepare for this transition.

Restricciones sobre Celulares

En Avalon TK-12, nos comprometemos a mantener las próximas restricciones sobre dispositivos personales para proteger el tiempo de instrucción y priorizar el bienestar y la concentración de nuestros estudiantes. A partir de este año escolar, no se permitirá el uso de teléfonos celulares durante la jornada escolar ni el horario de instrucción. Si se ve o se usa un teléfono celular, se considerará un dispositivo prohibido y se contactará a los padres o tutores para que lo retiren de la escuela.

Reconocemos que los teléfonos celulares están diseñados intencionalmente para ser adictivos y entendemos que esta adaptación puede ser difícil para algunos estudiantes. Su colaboración es crucial para que podamos mantener un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo. Los animamos a hablar con sus hijos sobre estos cambios y a ayudarlos a prepararse para esta transición.
