The APEX Fun Run is coming to Walteria from April 13–23! This two‑week program brings high‑energy fitness activities and daily leadership lessons to our students. The APEX team will visit classrooms, lead team‑building challenges, and wrap up the event with a fun run where students complete laps and celebrate their hard work.

More details will be shared as we get closer — get ready for a spirited and active two weeks on campus!

Please help spread the word! Walteria Elementary is hosting TK/Kindergarten School Tours for families who are curious about joining our school community. Tour sign ups can be found here.

Tours will be held on March 25, April 29, and May 27, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and lasting approximately one hour. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore classrooms, learn about our programs and routines, and see learning in action.

A valid photo ID is required for campus entry, and for the best experience, we kindly discourage children from attending. Space is limited, so advance registration is encouraged.

Incoming K–5 students are invited to explore the wonders of the animal world through SBEA’s Animal Kingdom, hosted by the South Bay Enrichment Academy and the Torrance Education Foundation. Kids will “travel the globe” on virtual safaris, discover amazing animals from every continent, and dive into stories, games, and hands‑on STEAM challenges. They’ll build habitats, design animal adaptations, and create nature‑inspired inventions.

Summer is almost here, and we are getting ready for a season of learning, growth, and fun!

It’s time once again for our Torrance Unified School District Innovation Festival, presented by Torrance Refining Company! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 18, at El Camino College.

Whether your students enjoy creating art, making crafts, listening to music, eating good food, engaging in engineering projects, conducting science experiments, exploring new technology, or coming up with new inventions, this is their chance to shine and showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills. The event includes a central Student Maker Faire, where young entrepreneurs can sign up to sell their original kid-made products.

Join us on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5:30–8:30 PM as Walteria transforms into a magical, Disney‑themed celebration. Enjoy dinner, desserts (including a churro cart), music from DJ Robert Hilo, dancing, entertainment, and a tattoo station.

We’ll also host a 5th‑grade gift‑basket raffle to support end‑of‑year activities.
