Principal/Vice Principal's Message
Dear LPS Families,
It is hard to believe that we are entering our last week before Spring Break. The students have been working hard, and we are looking forward to finishing the week strong before everyone enjoys a well-deserved break.
We had a blast with the recent science presentation on Forces! The students were highly engaged, asking great questions, and exploring new ideas. We can’t wait to expand our knowledge on this topic in the coming weeks.
A reminder that DRAFT will be cancelled on March 18, as we will be holding our Parent Teacher Conversations that evening. If you would like to book a time to meet with your child’s teacher, please call the school office, and Mrs. Davis will be happy to help you set up a time that works for your family. Parent-Teacher Conversations are a great opportunity to celebrate student growth, discuss learning, and address any questions you may have.
The mornings are still quite cold, and students will continue to go outside throughout the day. Please make sure your child comes dressed appropriately with warm coats, hats, mitts, and boots so they can enjoy their time outdoors comfortably.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to connecting with many of you next week and wish all of our LPS families a wonderful weekend.
With gratitude,
Louise Loh, Principal
Angela Davis, Vice Principal
Spring Parent/Teacher Conversations
Parent/Teacher Conversations will be held on March 18 (3:30 pm—6:30 pm)
These conversations provide an opportunity for families and teachers to come together as partners, fostering healthy school communities where every child feels supported. Together, we can celebrate strengths and discuss strategies to empower student learning and future readiness.
Comments on report cards are entered after the Conversations and will reflect the meaningful discussions between all interestholders.
Our Child & Youth Care workers will have activities for students. We look forward to connecting with you and working together to support your child’s growth.
We are committed to empowered learning and healthy school communities. Families are invited to view the classroom materials and resources their child is engaging with during Parent-Teacher Conversations.
Bookings closed on March 6th @ 3:00 pm. Please contact our office to book an appointment.
This Week's Unplugged Thought
When kids feel connected, they’re more open to guidance and limits.
Why This Matters
Connection helps children stay regulated and receptive during challenging moments.
Did You Know?
LSI and Accountability
Life Space Interviews do not replace consequences for behaviour. Expectations and consequences still apply. LSIs support accountability by helping students take responsibility for their actions, understand the impact on others, and identify how to repair harm and make better choices moving forward.
Staying Connected & Reporting Absences
Please note that our school offices will remain closed until August 18.
Starting August 18, all school-related calls and inquiries can be directed to our Administrative Assistant at Landing Trail School by calling 780-923-2898. This number will now serve as the main contact for all school communication, including urgent matters.
Reporting Student Absences
You can report your child's absence in one of two ways:
Call the school at 780-923-2898, or
Use our new online absence reporting tool:
Simply complete the online form by clicking here: https://forms.gle/XMpTWzG2wEWF7mgS8 – no phone call is required.
A confirmation email will be sent once your child’s absence has been successfully reported.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation as we prepare for the new school year!
