Hickman Hawks
A family of LEARNERS built on RESPECT and focused on GROWTH!
2026-08-09; Principal Message
Welcome NEW Families and Welcome Back to the familiar faces!
We are excited for our Hickman Family to reunite once again! Students return on Tuesday, August 11th. This year, our school day begins at 8:10, with doors opening to student s at 7:55, and ends with dismissal at 3:10. As in the past, car-riders will be picked up from the gym while bus riders will be dismissed from the front doors. As a reminder, parents are not permitted to walk their children to class with the exception of Pre-K and Kindergarten on the first day of school only. This is a matter of safety and we are unable to accommodate otherwise.
Parents are encouraged to read through our handbook which is posted online at HickmanHawks.com. THis provides important information for families such as attendance expectations, arrival and dismissal procedures, dress code, and school safety information. Our calendar of events is also posted online at our website.
On the first day of school, students will come home with a number of important papers and information meant to inform families. Some of those documents are requested back including the breakfast/lunch fee waiver form AND the student information verification form. This year, rather than asking parents to complete all new contact information, we are sending home a record of what we have on file and asking for updates to be made directly on that sheet. Should you need to remove any emergency contacts or add them, simply notate that directly on the form.
For those families familiar with Hickman within the past seven years, I need to share an important communication update: my callouts and the school email newsletter will only be sent monthly this year (instead of weekly). Be on the lookout for my call/email on the first Sunday of each month this year. Other, more irregular, communications will take place via the Remind app so all families are encouraged to claim their Remind account.
We are all looking forward to an exciting school year!
Be well.
