Low Ash Primary
Weekly round up
4.9.26
Welcome back! We come to the end of our first (nearly) full week back in school. The children are settling well into their new classrooms and have had a really positive start to the year.
Message from the Chair of Governors
The Governors of Low Ash have been exploring academisation options for the past few years and have voted to consult on a proposal for Low Ash Primary to convert to academy status and join Exceed Academies Trust. The DfE has approved the proposed conversion.
There will be a formal consultation period with stakeholders where we will invite parents and staff to make their views known. Please look out for further information on this in the next few weeks.
All decisions we take are in the best interests of the pupils and school. By joining Exceed Academies Trust, governors believe Low Ash will gain stronger school-to-school support, focused CPD for staff and access to shared resources that will help us sustain and build on our high standards.
I understand some of you may have questions and queries. Once the formal consultation begins, you will have the opportunity to ask these. Until all consultation is completed, Low Ash remains a Local Authority maintained school.

Parent and Carer drop ins
This week we welcomed Mrs Kellett, our pastoral and family support worker, back into school following her maternity leave. She is really looking forward to working with all of our families again. If you would like to discuss anything at all, please 'drop in' on a Thursday morning. You can call the office to book a slot.
Curriculum and Information evenings
Next week, years 1 - 6 will hold their curriculum and information evenings. This is a brilliant opportunity for parents and carers to meet their child's class teacher again, to ask any questions you might have and to find out a little more about the upcoming year. Allergy Awareness
Once again, we would like to remind families about the importance of allergy awareness. We have a number of children in school with severe allergies, some of which can be life-threatening. We ask all parents and carers to support us by being mindful of the snacks and packed lunches sent into school and by ensuring children do not share food with others. Taking a few extra moments to check ingredients and talk with your child about the importance of keeping their food to themselves can make a significant difference in helping us keep everyone safe. Thank you for working with us to create a caring, inclusive and safe environment where all children can learn and thrive.
As stated in the ping sent earlier this week, we will no longer be able to allow pupils to bring in birthday food treats for their classes. However, pupils can now come into school in their own clothes as opposed to school uniform on their birthdays.
Safely finding a tutor for your child
We know that some of our families (especially families of children in Key Stage 2) employ tutors to help their child. Below we have included a link to the NSPCC website which includes some advice on how to safely choose a private tutor.
