From the Principal's Desk:
Good Morning, RCS Families,
Welcome Back!
We are so very excited to begin a new school journey together! Thank you for entrusting Resurrection Catholic School with the privilege of educating, guiding, and supporting your children. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year filled with learning, growth, faith, and many special memories.
As we prepare for our first day on Tuesday, September 8, I would like to share a few important reminders regarding arrival and the start of the school day.
Opening Day – Bishop’s Visit
We are honored to welcome the Bishop to RCS on Opening Day. He will be on campus from approximately 7:45–8:45 a.m.
The Bishop’s Back-to-School Prayer and Blessing will take place at the flagpole in front of the school after the students have entered the building, at approximately 8:05 a.m.
Please understand that arrival will be very busy, particularly on our first day. We ask for your patience, cooperation, and, most importantly, your attention to student safety.
Morning Drop-Off Reminders
- The late bell for morning drop-off is 8:00 a.m.
- As you enter the parking lot, please watch carefully for the cones dividing the front and rear drop-off areas:
- Front of the school: Stay to the left.
- Behind the school: Stay to the right.
- See Diagram here
- If you are using the rear drop-off, once you turn at the end of the building, follow the cones and remain to the right. Students may exit their vehicles and use the sidewalk to walk to the courtyard entrance.
- Please pull forward as far as possible when dropping off your child. This allows additional cars to enter and keeps traffic moving.
- Please do not leave your vehicle while in the drop-off line. All K–8 students are expected to exit their vehicles and walk into the school independently. Leaving your vehicle slows the process and creates a safety concern.
- Please keep your speed below 5 M.P.H. at all times while on school property.
- Please do not cut into the line or pass vehicles in front of you while students are exiting cars. We need everyone to follow the traffic pattern to ensure a safe and orderly arrival.
- Our middle school students will be available to assist our Kindergarten students and, when they begin, our PreK students as they make their way into the school through the front entrance.
- Siblings of PreK and Kindergarten students: Drop off is the front of the building.
While we know many families will want to see and participate in the Bishop’s blessing, getting students safely into the building is our first priority.
Please do not stop or leave your vehicle while in line or to attend the blessing until your child has safely entered the school and you have completed the drop-off process.
We appreciate your patience as we work together to make Opening Day safe, smooth, and welcoming for everyone.
Additional Reminders
- Lunch will be served Tuesday through Thursday, as these are full school days.
- Please remember to sign your child up as a WALKER if they have permission to leave campus as a walker. Students without a walker badge are not permitted to leave campus.
- Friday will be a 12:30 p.m. dismissal. Faculty will remain afterward for a staff meeting.
- Afternoon pick-up procedures remain the same as last year.
As everyone becomes familiar with our drop-off procedures, we anticipate that traffic will ease and the process will become much quicker. Your patience and cooperation during these first few days will make a tremendous difference.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and for working with us to make the beginning of the school year a positive experience for everyone. I wish you and your families a very joyous, successful, and happy school year!
