The Connection
JULY 2026
“It’s football time in Tennessee!” I love to hear those words on the radio. It signals that my favorite team, the UT Vols, are getting ready to take the field. It also means it’s fall in Bristol and time for our annual CCC Picnic. I hope and pray you will come out and be part of the fellowship. It’s a great time to get to know people and to eat some really good food.
This year the church will provide the main course, which will be fried chicken, and we will have a few chicken tenders on hand for the kids. We are asking each family that attends to bring a dish to share. Those whose last names begin with A-M are asked to bring a side dish, and those whose last names begin with N-Z are to bring a dessert. Please have your food there by 4:30pm and we will start serving at 5:00pm.
Our annual picnic is always a lot of fun. Again, it will be at the picnic shelter at Whitetop Creek Park, located just off Highway 394 at 310 Sportsway Drive, across from the Bristol Dragway. There is a playground on one side of the shelter and a basketball court on the other side. We also will have a couple of Cornhole games set up. There will be a number of tables, chairs and picnic tables set up under the shelter, but you can also bring your own lawn chair if you want to sit in the grass. We will provide tea, lemonade and bottled water to drink. You can bring soft drinks if you would prefer them.
This is a great time to invites friends and family, who might not have a church home, to come out and have a good time with us. Please be in prayer for good weather on that day. I hope to see you there and remember our church vision, Hope Changes Everything.
Love, Grace & Peace,
Pastor Mark

HAVEN RESCUE MISSION
The Haven Rescue Mission is continuing its mission to serve those dealing with tough times in Bristol, Tennessee and Virginia. Through the Men’s Emergency Shelter, Men’s Transitional Housing, the Haven’s community Food Pantry, Weekday Public Evening Meal, Infant Ministry, and vouchers for clothing and household items from The Haven Thrift Store, lives are restored, basic needs are met, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared. Thank you Central Christian Church for your prayers and support.
