7th grade Math students are using proportions to find missing percentages and to find the percent relationships between two numbers.

Plotting Stars

The 8th graders are officially star students! They plotted real stars on a giant wall HR Diagram, proving their futures are nothing short of bright.

Mousetrap Cars

This week in Coach Janson’s Mythbusters Class, students put their engineering skills to the test by building mousetrap cars! The hands-on experiment challenged them to hypothesize whether their cars would travel farther or faster on tile versus concrete. Students had a blast testing their creations and discovering which surface gave their cars the ultimate speed boost!

Free and Reduced Lunch

Children need healthy and nutritious meals to learn and grow. Lago Vista ISD offers healthy meals every school day. The Free and Reduced Lunch Program provides students from eligible families with a free or reduced lunch at school.

Starting September 1st, all reduced-price-eligible students will receive FREE breakfast and lunch in the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years.

Volleyball Finishes Their Season Against Salado

7A

Wow! What a way to close out the season! A big WIN for these girls against Salado in 2 sets! Scores were 25-19 and 25-16. The 7A team has closed out their season with a 7-3 record. The 3 losses they had were split losses, meaning they had also beat the same team another time during the season, so really, they were able to compete and have a victory over each and every team they played in our district! If I haven't said it enough, I couldn't be more proud of each and every one of these girls! They improved so much this season and to show up in the last game, stay focused and compete the way that they did against a tough opponent was very fun to watch! Something they have heard me say quite often is - What can you control? Attitude and effort! - and man did they ever! Contributing to the season this year was: Shelby Porter #0, Laila West #2, Lara Sund #3, MiaBella Rubio #6, Brightyn Stamos #7, Aspen Weyant #8, Rowan Parra #10, Stella Potvin #11, Kenzie Wharton #13. Congratulations on a great season!

What a season for the 7B Lady Vikings! From the first practice to the final match, this team showed incredible growth, grit, and teamwork. Although they didn’t take the win in the final game, their improvement and determination were something to be proud of. The 8B Lady Vikings wrapped up their final home volleyball game against Salado. Though they came up short on the scoreboard, it was their best performance of the season against a tough opponent. The team played with heart. Showing strong teamwork, aggressive play, and long rallies that kept the energy high. Now headed to high school, this group is ready for the next level. The 8B Lady Vikings wrapped up their season this past Monday evening against a very strong Salado team. Even though the score didn't go the Vikings way the girls still put forth a good effort. This team has been an absolute pleasure to work with all season long. They showed up ready to work every day, making practices spirited, competitive and a lot of fun. I’m excited to see what the future holds for these young ladies as they move onto high school. Vikings Battle the Navarro Panthers

Thursday night, the Lago Vista Middle School Vikings took on the tough Navarro Panthers in two hard-fought games.

In the first matchup, the Super Team Vikings gave it their all but fell short against a talented Panther squad, 50–8. James Ferrell provided a huge spark for the Vikings with an explosive 70-yard touchdown run, and Kayson Rupprecht powered in the two-point conversion. Despite the loss, the team continued to fight hard and show grit against strong competition.

The 8th Grade Vikings game was a physical, hard-hitting battle from start to finish. Tyler Tarlton got the Vikings rolling with a 65-yard punt return touchdown, thanks to some excellent blocking from his teammates. Quarterback Kooper Kudrna connected with Ashton Houston for a 30-yard touchdown and later found Cade Morton for a 42-yard score. Kudrna also added a 12-yard rushing touchdown to cap off a strong offensive night.

The Vikings wrap up their season next Thursday, November 6, at home against Wimberley at LVHS Stadium. Come out and cheer on your Vikings as they look to finish the season strong!

Parent Portal Password Reset Instructions!

#1 - Make sure you are going through our website link to get to the correct Parent Portal.

#2 - If you have forgotten your password, fill in your username and then click on "forgot password. If you try to type an incorrect password more than three times, the system will lock you out for 15 minutes.

#3 - On the next screen, ONLY put in your username...DO NOT put in your email! It will not work. After you put in your username, it will take you to the security question.

Depending on the security question you chose, you will need to remember your answer as you typed it in because it is case sensitive.

#4 - Reset your password. Use your child's name with their birthdate and a symbol to make it easier to remember the password.

#5 - Once you have reset your password, you will be back in your Parent Portal. If you see a RED bar, you need to complete the registration. Once you have completed all the saved forms, you will see a GREEN bar which means you have completed the registration.

You can always download the LVISD app and get easier access to the Parent Portal, etc.

Online registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! Please take a few minutes to log in to your Ascender ParentPortal account and complete the required forms for each child.

How to Register

1. Sign in to Ascender ParentPortal.

2. Click on the "Summary" tab on the left. Look for the red bar under your child’s name and click it to open the registration forms.

3. Complete each form. Save each form before moving to the next one.

4. When all forms are complete, click Submit to District. A green bar will appear to confirm your child is fully registered.

Tip: Student schedules for next year will not be visible until they are published in August.

Need Help Logging In?

If you’ve forgotten your username or password, simply email registration@lagovistaisd.net with your child’s name and grade, and we will reset your account promptly.

Keep Your Contact Information Current

Please verify all phone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contacts while you are in the portal. Anyone who may pick up your child must be listed before we can release a student from campus.

Bus Registration

If your child will ride the bus regularly next year, be sure to submit the Bus Registration form in ParentPortal as early as possible so we can finalize routes. To ride at the beginning of the year, make sure to fill out your request by Friday, August 1st to make sure you are on the list.
