Take the Survey: LCPS Seeks Input on 2032 Strategic Plan
LCPS is developing a 2032 Strategic Plan to help guide decisions and clearly define priorities in our work together. We have sent our students, families and staff dedicated links inviting you to share your input. Look for an email with a link just for you from research@sogolytics-edu.com. Community members, who are not families, staff or students, can visit the webpage to take the survey as members of the public.
Staff and families are also invited to offer feedback by participating in focus groups. It is easy to get involved. When you take the survey, indicate that you wish to be considered for participation in a focus group. If selected, you would need to be available in person from Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16, 2026 at the LCPS Administration Building (21000 Education Ct. in Ashburn). More information is included in the survey. We will also be asking parents and community members to become involved in a Strategic Planning Team to support this process.
Focus group participants will be placed in groups with volunteers in the same category, either parents/guardians, teachers or community partners. We look forward to hearing your feedback in the survey and to having your participation in focus groups or the planning team as we begin to gather information on the foundation for the next strategic plan. If you are selected to participate in a focus group or on the Strategic Planning Team, you will be notified by Dr. Ana Cingel, supervisor of Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement, on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
LCPS Schools Honor Veterans
Twelve LCPS Schools Earn Purple Star Designation for the 2025-26 School Year
Twelve Loudoun County public schools have been designated as Purple Star Schools by the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children for this school year. This year’s LCPS Purple Star honorees include seven schools earning the designation for the first time, four schools being recognized for the second time and one school earning this recognition for the third time. The Purple Star designation recognizes the schools’ outstanding support for military-connected students and families. They are among 288 schools across the Commonwealth to receive the designation this year, which remains valid for three years. An additional 13 LCPS schools earned the Purple Star distinction in previous years, reflecting the division’s ongoing commitment to serving military families. Read about LCPS' Purple Star schools.
Stone Bridge Senior Receives Prestigious IMPACT Leadership Award
During a pep rally last Friday, Stone Bridge senior Kamila Cordero was honored with the Purple Heart IMPACT Leadership Award. Kamila is one of only seven students statewide to receive this award. Presented in partnership with the Virginia Department of Education and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the IMPACT Award recognizes military-connected students for leadership, resilience, and service. For the past four years, Kamila has been an active member of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Explorer Program, which provides students with hands-on experience in service-oriented careers. Kamila has also served as co-president of Stone Bridge’s Purple Star Ambassadors Club, which supports Stone Bridge’s military-connected students. Kamila credited her experience in these two programs with helping her grow her leadership skills. Kamila’s family joined her on Friday as she received her award, including her father who is an Army Reservist and was about to start a new deployment.
