We are excited to host our Terry Fox assembly soon to reveal the grand total for funds raised! Did the students raise enough to get the special suprise from Mrs. Fox, Mme Vail, and M Derbyshire?

Great work to all of our Cross Country members who qualified and competed in the district championship on Thursday October 17th!

The Student Advisory Council (SAC) invites all Kindergarten parents to a meet-and-greet at Fine Balance Brewery (677 Innovation Drive) on Sunday, October 27th, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Bring the family, connect with other parents, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon over coffee and beverages. Kids' activities will be provided, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Given the limited space at Fine Balance Brewery, we ask that those interested in attending please register using the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/v6VgvhHy9v. Registration is not mandatory, and you are welcome to show up on October 27th between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

If you haven't been to Fine Balance Brewing before, it's a locally-owned business that encourages Balance in Life. People of all ages and pets are welcome inside. More information can be found at its website: Fine Balance Brewing Company.

While the event targets kindergarten-age families, all parents (especially ones new to Maple) are welcome to attend.

Welcome to Lunchbox!

You can order MILK & SUBWAY using the same link (see above)!

Note: Orders may be placed weekly or in advance for any number of days within the school year.

How to Order:

1. Log into your Lunchbox account.

2. If you need to create an account, please go to www.lunchboxorders.net

• Select ‘Create an Account’.
• Add your contact information along with a password.
• An email notification will be sent to you to confirm your email and login information.
• Log back into Lunchbox to add your child to the program. (Your email is your username).

3. Confirm your child’s account information including their new teacher and grade for the current school year.

• Click ‘Add’ to save the information.
• **Please ensure the correct teacher and grade are selected to prevent errors on delivery days.

4. Press the ‘Order Now’ button beside your student’s name.

5. Place your child’s lunch order(s) on your school’s ordering calendar by clicking the blue date for the scheduled vendors. The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Debit MasterCard, or Visa Debit Visa and MasterCard prepaid cards are also accepted.

In collaboration with the City of Kingston and KFL&A, Ecole Maple is excited to offer an opportunity for families to access established meet up locations for their student (s) who are walking from the neighbourhood indicated on the meet up location map. Families may decide to walk with the group, or set up a network where this could be scheduled with other families in the neighbourhood. At the end of the school day, students can also access the meet up location at the Gazebo for their walk home. As indicated, there is the advantage of increased safety when traveling in numbers as well as an opportunity to make friends and build community.

When you join SchoolMessenger, you will be able to:

• receive imporant information from LDSB
• join classrooms and extra-curricular groups
• report a student's absence (same day and in advance)

Reporting A Student's Absence:

The new student absence reporting system will let you use a mobile app, a website, or an interactive toll-free phone number to report an absence in advance. These options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.

If your student is marked absent and the absence hasn’t been reported in advance, our new SafeArrival system will attempt to reach the student’s priority contact by telephone to confirm the absence. If our system is unable to reach the designated contacts, school office staff will follow up.
