Week of September 16th, 2024
Supporting Academic Success at Bryan Middle School
Dear Bryan Middle School Families,
At Bryan Middle School, we are committed to ensuring that every student reaches their full academic potential. We know that achieving success in school is key to a bright future, and we are here to support our students in every way possible. We believe that all students will be successful!
Grade Updates and Communication
Starting soon, you will receive regular text notifications regarding your student’s academic progress. These messages will keep you informed about their grades, helping you stay connected and aware of how your child is doing. Whether it’s a celebration of a passing grade or a notification that more effort is needed, this system is designed to keep families in the loop and encourage ongoing communication between school and home.
Academic Recovery on Tuesdays and Thursdays
To ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed, we have Academic Recovery sessions every Tuesday and Thursday. These sessions are designed to provide targeted help to students who need additional support in specific subjects. During these recovery times, students can work with teachers on missed assignments, receive extra instruction on challenging concepts, and have the time they need to catch up. These are after school until 4:30, and just email to get your student signed up for a day.
Tutoring Support
In addition to Academic Recovery, we offer tutoring to help students excel. Tutoring is available for students who need extra practice, a deeper understanding of the material, or just a quiet place to focus. With the guidance of our dedicated staff, tutoring provides personalized help tailored to each student’s needs. We encourage all students to take advantage of this resource, especially those who are striving for higher grades or need assistance in certain areas. Tutoring is after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays until 5 PM.
Together for Success
At Bryan Middle School, we believe that every student will be successful when we work together. We are here to support each child in achieving academic success, and we know that with your involvement and our commitment, we can help them reach their goals. Encourage your students to attend Academic Recovery sessions, participate in tutoring, and stay on top of their progress. With these tools in place, no challenge is too big to overcome.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership. Together, we can ensure that our Bears have a successful school year and beyond.
Sincerely,
Mr. Karmazin
Principal, Bryan Middle School

From the Counselors
Here are 5 ways to support your child with their academics!
Check their grades in Infinite Campus at least once a week and remember to give positive feedback when your child is doing well and ask them about missing assignments or low grades. https://campus.ops.org/campus/portal/parents/ops.jsp
Look over planners which are used to assist each student in setting personal goals, record achievement, managing time, recording class assignments, check-off completed assignments.
Encourage your child to do at least 30 Minutes of Success Maker lessons a week in math or their Reading Inventory.
Encourage your students to do some of the following to help keep up with deadlines. We understand that sometimes we can’t make it to school, so keeping in contact with their teacher about where they can access their missing work will help them stay on track!
Does your child need a tutor? Contact us to inquire about tutoring after school in the library! Offered Tuesdays-Thursday until 5pm, contact Mrs Raszler for more information, Lisa.raszler@ops.org. Or if your child would like to stay afterschool (Tuesday-Thursday) to work on homework/missing assignments, email their counselor and have them sign up for academic recovery!
Please contact a counselor if you have questions or concerns at any time!
