Each year a group of high school students serve on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC). They provide input on Weatherford ISD topics and also conduct an annual service project. This year, the SSAC is partnering with the Brazos River Regional Day School Program for the Deaf to bring nationally known singer and contestant on The Voice, Jonathan Hutcherson to Weatherford. Jonathan was born with 50-60% hearing loss in both ears and has worn hearing aids since he was two years old. His appearance in Weatherford would include delivering his message to students who are hearing impaired and also with students at Weatherford High School.

The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) has several fundraising events planned for the next few weeks. They are diligently working to raise money this week with the “Send a Crush to Your Crush” event. Sales are great, and those will be delivered on February 14, 2017 during second period.

February 18th will be Wear Your Favorite Hat to School Day! Students may pay to participate. SSAC Students will be selling printed labels with the following information: $1 Hat Day.
