A Message From Your Principal
Dear Champion Cheetah Families,
Congratulations on the completion of our First Marking Period! As we conclude the first quarter, I want to celebrate the hard work and growth of our students. I am happy to share our overall attendance has improved and student achievement outcomes across all subject areas are demonstrating remarkable gains!
I attribute our school’s success to the outstanding partnership and dedication of our teachers, families and students. Your joint efforts have enriched the educational experience and exemplified the power of teamwork in education.
I'd also like to thank our amazing PTO for keeping the momentum going by their willingness to support our families and staff with engaging events and their gestures of appreciation for our staff.
I'm enthusiastic about moving into Quarter 2 with renewed energy and focus.
Warm Regards,
Aerica A. Williams

Cheetah Café is Up and Running
Cheetah Café is a student-run program through which students with special needs prepare and deliver homemade treats and cold drinks to staff. Students participate in all aspects of Cheetah Café, gaining academic and social skills.
Donations allow us to use our profits to provide our students with real world experiences that will also help prepare them for the future. Our greatest needs at this time are cake mix, brownie mix, frosting, vegetable oil and butter sticks. Cheetah Café will gladly accept donations dropped off at the Cedar Point front office. Cheetah Café also has an Amazon Wishlist if you'd like to support this meaningful program!
3rd Grade
4th Grade
4th grade worked on their descriptive writing last month through animal reports! They also had the opportunity to visit our new science lab to work on creating models to demonstrate the motions of the Earth, Sun and Moon (including moon phases, solar/lunar eclipses).
5th Grade
5th grade had fun in science this month. In the science lab, students conducted an investigation on how energy effects matter and how matter is everywhere, even if we can't see it! We also had a great time with the friction lab, testing how different surfaces have an effect on motion!
Field Trip Fun!
Our 5th grade students had a great time exploring Skyline Caverns and Kindergarten spent a beautiful fall day at Maple Tree Farms! For more photos of both field trips, please check out our Cedar Point Facebook page!
Celebrating Our Champion Cheetahs!
Checkmate!
Congratulations to Everett Machovec (Mrs. Boyle's 5th grade class) who won first place at the Rippon Middle School Chess Tournament on Oct. 18!
Everett and fellow chess enthusiast Chathun Alishetty (Ms. Sheridan's 5th grade class) also earned Cedar Point Elementary a first place finish! Way to go, Everett and Chathun!
The Great Pumpkin!
Congratulations to Heidi Montgomery in Mrs. Baldwin's 4th grade class who won our Cafeteria's pumpkin weight guessing contest!
The pumpkin weighed 16 lbs. and Heidi came the closest with her guess of 15.5 lbs.! Way to go, Heidi!
Counselor's Corner
Ms. Scott and Ms. Ferentinos loved talking about mindfulness, self-control, friendship/kindness, worrying, bullying, and medicine safety in Encore! In November, we will be discussing growth mindset and gratitude. Be on the lookout for opt-out information for our Body Safety lesson in December!
Gifted Education News
During the first quarter, each homeroom class in 1st-3rd grade participated in enrichment lessons with Mrs. Brazier, Cedar Point’s Gifted Education and Talent Development teacher.
In 1st grade, students practice their visual-spatial and problem-solving skills as they completed tangram puzzles. Each student completed a rabbit puzzle (with visible tangram shapes inside) and then moved on to any of the puzzles in the tangram booklet. Students who found success with several animal and object puzzles had the opportunity to move on to silhouette puzzles. Silhouette puzzles show the shape of the puzzle but not the individual tangrams inside. If your child would like to continue to solve tangram puzzles, a digital set of puzzles and tangrams can be found at: https://polypad.amplify.com/tangram
The 2nd grade students sharpened their visual-spatial skills as they learned to solve Q-Bitz puzzles (pictured). Q-Bitz puzzles are composed of 16 cubes that have a different pattern on each face. Students rotate the cubes and place them in the wooden game board to match the pattern on the selected card.
Our Cedar Point 3rd graders were introduced to the world of analogies. They practiced finding the relationship between the words, pictures, or numbers in order to solve verbal, visual-spatial, and number analogies. As part of the lesson, each homeroom class identified and practiced solving analogies with the following relationships: synonyms, antonyms, homophones, part/whole, user/object, and type/description.
Mrs. Brazier updates her Enrichment Padlet each week. All Cedar Point students can access the Padlet via a QR code in their homeroom classroom or from the following website address:
