"It's a great day to be a Panther"
Monday, May 19th to Friday, May 23rd
Principals Message
Happy Friday DKMS Panther families. It's been a hot, stormy, eventful week here in the middle school.
Thursday students were unable to take their Math NWEA assessment because we had an internet outage in the morning. Students will be taking this final district assessment on Wednesday May 21, 2025.
Tonight our 8th grade students will be having their Casino Royale Dance from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in our cafeteria. This dance is for 8th grade DKMS students only. If you have any questions please contact the middle school office at (269) 623-1541.
DKMS Summer Camp Registration forms were given to our 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students on Monday. If they were absent or did not bring one home, please have your child ask their teacher for another copy. Forms are due back to the school on Friday May 23, 2025. They can turn those into any of their teachers or the office.
As we near the end of the school year we have lots of lost and found items in our cafeteria. We will be donating these items on Friday May 30, 2025 at 3:00 pm if they are not claimed. Please talk with your child to see if they are missing any items and to check our lost and found.
As always I would like to thank our students, staff, families, and community for all of their hard work and support! 13 more school days until this school year is complete. The finish line is close and we will finish strong! Have a great weekend!
It is a great day to be a PANTHER!!!

Teen Cuisine Wraps Up Second Session
The second group of Teen Cuisine students wrapped up their six-week cooking journey at the beginning of May with a delicious final class featuring chicken quesadillas and fresh blueberry smoothies.
Teen Cuisine is a hands-on nutrition and cooking program available to 5th through 8th grade students. Throughout the six weeks, students learn the basics of nutrition, proper knife safety, and essential cooking skills. Each week, they work together to select and prepare recipes from their class workbook.
Teen Cuisine is a collaborative effort between the Delton Kellogg Food Service Director, the school nurse, and an MSU Extension Nutrition Educator, all working together to bring healthy cooking and eating habits to life for our middle schoolers.
Senior Grad Walk Through the Middle School
On Tuesday, our middle school students had a chance to celebrate the graduating seniors during the annual Senior Grad Walk.
Seniors walked through the hallways in their caps and gowns as middle school students and staff lined the halls to cheer them on and congratulate them. It is always a fun and meaningful way to recognize their hard work and big achievement.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025—we’re proud of you and wish you all the best in your next chapter!
Mother’s Day Art in Mrs. Williams’ Class
Last week, students in Mrs. Williams’ class got creative while making special Mother’s Day artwork.
They used fun and unusual tools like celery stalks, forks, pop bottle bottoms, and Q-tips to paint beautiful flower pictures. Each student put in great effort to create something unique and meaningful for their mom. It was a wonderful way to show their love and appreciation.
6th Graders Enjoy Spring Weather While Learning
